Beautiful place for taking walks along the beach, especially in summer. The cliffs are sandstone, so in the sunset they appear golden and it forms a beautiful landscape. These cliffs are dotted with caves ranging from small cavities to caves big enough to crawl through, formed by the groundwater leaking from in between the layers of sandstone. Up top, the many trees grow near the drop and their roots hold the top soil together with some of them overhanging the cliffside. Due to the soft nature of the rock, you'll likely find that the scene changes every time you visit, though not drastically. Another more unfortunate side of this soft rock is that many people feel the need to crudely engrave mementos of their visit in the cliffside, leading to some rather unsociable quotes on the otherwise stunning cliffside. Another unfortunate drawback of this venue is the road leading up to it. It is nearly pure clay leading through a swampy terrain, so it is more akin to Verdun than Veczemju klintis. Heed my advice and don't come in winter/spring or after rainfall. Not only can you not exceed the speed of a Mark I tank, the road, it is a washboard. Once you find the parking spot, you will find that it costs 2€ or thereabouts. Now, I am no communist, but this price makes me want to redistribute the means of production and it isn't paved at all. But, overall, it is a place certaintly worth visiting if you're in the area or you want to take a stroll along a stunningly scenic beach, something akin to the white cliffs of Dover, but golden...

Do not go in there, its a scam! First of all, Ive driven hundreds of kilometers of Latvian gravel roads and this one was the WORST! First you have to ride there, destroy your cars suspension(going faster to adjust to the vibration that road causes will be bad idea because its bumpy and you can destroy your cars engine by bouncing into some big boulder in that road). When you finally arrive there, theres paid parking only. PAID PARKING? For that bad road experience!? I am furious and have never given bad review like this. You can park few hundreds meters before near crossroad for free. You can not visit that spot without walking alot or pay for parking. Waste of time, wasted car suspension and theres much nicer alternatives with much better roads: Skaņaiskalns or...

This review is for camping, not for this place of nature. (Marvelous place - true. Bumpy-road - true, but nothing special, you can surmount it with any car, even Ferrari. This place is ideal to come, swim in the sea and get back home. If you are going to stay here for more than one night it can be quite uncomfortable. For a really big area (100+ camp sites) there are only one shower with two cabins (unisex by the way), 4 toilets in different parts of camping: 2 of them just a "black hole" with terrible smell, 2 - with standard flush-toilets. No toilet paper from 8PM to 9AM, be prepared. Also, there is no policy to keep silence after 11PM (I know it is mostly about people education not camping itself), but if you are going to sleep at night, it is a wrong...

An adventurous, unpaved road leeds from the main road down to the beach where you can find some beautiful sandstone cliffs. It's an easy drive with the car or with a bike and you are rewarded with a beautiful scenery of red and white sandstone cliffs, caves, big and small stones of different colours in the sand and the fresh water of the Baltic Sea! You can park your car at the entrance of the camping site. They charge some money for parking. Walk from there to some wooden stairs that leed down to the beach. Enjoy the different colours of the cliffs and walk up again on the other side. There's an easy path on top off the cliffs that leeds back to the camping site.

The caves and cliffs themselves are beautiful. Not huge - maybe 3 or 4 metres high and about 100m long, but they’re still impressive. We visited in November and were able to park for free at the campsite that covers most of this section of coast, but in the summer it’s mobbed and they charge to park (I’ve heard €3 for 1/2hr if not staying at the site). Most of the rest of the coastal strip here is privately owned, so it’s hard to get to the cliffs any other way. There is a free parking area, but it’s several kms south so would be a long walk along the beach each way. Despite this, it’s beautiful and worth a visit. If the campsite is open maybe you could stay‽

Amazing views of the sand stone Canyon and small feeling of USA Canyons that i visited. Bad part is long (~4km) and rough gravel road.. so rough it shakes really strong.. i recommend SUV to reach it..Also very touristic place (even though it was empty at end of April, seems very busy in summer- hundreds of tables and fireplaces, huge parking, but only several wooden toilets). Sand stone/ sea shore is amazing, but not very protected from harming people coming to stay there.. stone is all carved, the clifs damaged by “pro climbers” Parking cost in spring- 3 Eur. Nice play to stay and camp/ cook some meals on camp site when it is empty 😎
