It is a place of worship and prayer. The monastery is very peaceful, and the church is old and it fills you with humility and peace. The monastery is located on the top of a cliff overlooking the sea, which makes it very popular for photos whether for weddings, selfie, bloggers, vloggers, .... So you will find people from different religions enjoying the scenery and posing for pictures. The old trees at the clifftop are all bent due to the strong wind and they extend parallel to the ground which makes them appealing for children and adults to climb. I only wish for the visitors to respect the place and avoid throwing their trash on the grounds. And to make sure that you are dressed appropriately if you want to enter the church (no shorts allowed for men).

One of more magical locations around the Chekka area in North Lebanon. If you are heading north, stop for a few minutes if just for the view. The convent (listed wrongly as a monastery), which is run by Orthodox nuns, sits atop a hill and has a view that extends from the Chekka Bay to Tripoli and beyond. There are steps behind the convent - ask the nuns for the key if the gate is closed - that lead to the much older ruins of an old church that is built into the rock and that is associated to the legend that gives the place its name. Don't skip this part because the view will be just as striking as the one that you will get from the top of the hill.

One of the most beautiful and serene places in Lebanon. Be prepared for some prayer and meditation when you visit this monastery. It is a greek orthodox one where nuns wear head covers (hijab). The big church is beautiful and make sure to visit the old church through the long stairs outside which leads to it. There are ruins of the historic monastery downstairs and you can't miss the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean sea and the north coast. Such a blessing to have Saydit el Nouriye.

Perfect place to pray, enjoy the calm atmosphere with a breathtaking view. Many different spots to see, two churches and several view points. Sometimes the gate that leads all the way down is closed so that depends on your luck. However, with that, it's still worth the visit. The whole place is very well maintenained and clean. Easy to get there and big spaces for parking.

Favorite place. The old church is breathtaking. The nuns are so sweet. You can go downstairs and see the little church too surrounded with people’s wishes. The view gives you peace. You can sit for hours and hours. It’s so calm. You can see the pure blue sea. Next to it you can have the best saj and fresh products from the garden. My place to go always

2 words : Holy ground!!! The story goes that our Lady the blessed Virgin Mary appeared for a sailor in distress at sea near Noorieh shore & she was his guiding star in the midst of the storm & led him to safety & so the monastery was built in her honor at the spot (on the mountain) where she appeared 🙏🙏🙏🙏💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💟💟💟💟💟
