Reviews of Lewis & Clark Discovery Center
Honestly pretty disappointing for $15. The history discussed was very basic and the indoor section was just a hallway with a handful of artifacts and a couple of maps/plaques. The walk outside was nice but mostly because the weather was nice that day. There wasn't particularly spectacular about the landscape or exhibits.
If I was driving through again, I would save my money and revisit the Nez Pierce visitor center at Spalding's Chapel down the road - much more interesting and whispers...
Read moreWe have been here a few times, for various events. Mainly, the first day of the year hike is why we come.
The land management doesn't go beyond the camp ground. The trails are managed by the Army Corp.
This facility itself and the surrounding grounds are clean.
We really wish this center's land was managed by and the emphasis of their efforts were focused on the surviving indigenous people, the Nimiipu.
The entire park now cists $12 a day or $80 a year (out of state) to access.
Not worth $14 entry fee, only worth a quick look & the 45min video if you’re already camping in the park. Only 12 displays, outdoor walking path & 45min video. We had a much better experience at the local Nez Perce County Historical Society & Museum in town (guided tour at 2pm & treasure trove of displays & artifacts) and the Nez Perce National Historic Site (awesome visitor center & informative rangers).
