It was one of the greatest places in Benghazi. It was well known for entertainment, relaxation, fun and joy ; however, its not the same anymore because of poor services. customer services and food quality dropped. Despite its quite expensive but there are no maintenance. For example, you pay 150 LYD to get a spot at the beach but the showers don’t work and the lineups are huge ( 4 showers, only 2 works). Washrooms are horrible and flooded. We pay for entrance, for the beach, for food and drinks, still we don’t receive good quality food or showers! The quality of the food sucks and the attitude of the staff is very poor. The staff at the main entrance, some of the waiters, and person who is in charge of renting a spot at the beach don’t know how to deal with customers at all, they are disrespectful. More importantly, they hold the best spots in the beach for the owner and loved ones. Lack of customer service training and poor food quality is obviously a major factor. Its extremely disappointing especially when the start...
Read moreTo be fair the place is beautiful and clean. But the prices are extreme. Firstly it’s a card top up system where you must spend 200 LYD first, pay a 20 LYD enter fee from the 200 LYD you filled, and pay for services within with the card. You had to pay to swim in the sea by booking a hut for 200 LYD because you cannot bring your own mat to set down. You aren’t allowed to enter the pool with cotton clothing and they direct you towards their swimsuit store which is just another money grab. We paid 200 LYD and did nothing with it but buy food, and still nearly half the menu wasn’t available in certain stores. It is very money hungry and unethical behaviour towards average Libyan families. Bringing food from outside isn’t allowed so you end up feeling pressured. I don’t recommend coming here unless you’re willing to burn through money. Overall, 2 stars from me, and that is...
Read morethe service at the cafe/restaurant palmera is absolutely appalling. got our order wrong about 3 times, charged us extra, and our hot drinks were cold as if they put it in a fridge. the iced drinks also just tasted like milk and the cake was dry and crumbly. also the workers there seem like the do no want to be there. they just stand around ignoring you whilst they are taking your order. you have to talk in a louder voice just for them to talk and listen to you. overall i highly do NOT recommend going to palmera in the golden palm. the golden palm is nice hence the 3 stars but the palmera is less...
