rarely write long reviews, but I feel this one is well-deserved. Our recent visit to Snow Arena in Druskininkai was completely overshadowed by the unprofessional and unpleasant behavior of one particular staff member — a blonde woman working at the reception desk. Her attitude alone was enough to make sure we’ll never return, and it’s important others are aware of what to expect.
From the very beginning, her demeanor was cold, dismissive, and, frankly, rude. We approached the reception desk with perfectly normal questions about entry, rentals, and how the process works for first-time visitors. She barely looked up, didn’t greet us, and answered everything with either a sigh, a sarcastic tone, or no words at all — just a finger pointing vaguely in some direction.
We weren’t being difficult. We weren’t demanding. We were simply asking for information in a polite and friendly way. But her facial expression made it clear: she wasn’t interested in helping us. She acted like we were wasting her time, and even seemed annoyed that we didn’t magically know how everything worked.
Her entire body language screamed arrogance and disinterest — arms crossed, eyes half-rolled, impatient tapping on the desk, and an expression like we were interrupting something more important. What made it worse was that while we were still standing there waiting for help, she casually turned to chat with her colleague as if we didn’t exist.
It’s one thing to have a bad day. Everyone has them. But this wasn’t just bad energy — it was straight-up hostile service. I’ve worked in customer service before, and I can say with confidence: she should not be working at the front desk of any public attraction. First impressions matter, and she created a cold, unwelcome atmosphere from the moment we walked in.
To be honest, the Snow Arena itself is not bad. The slopes are okay, the idea is good, and the space is clean. But none of that matters when the very first person you meet makes you feel like a burden.
Other visitors around us seemed just as confused and frustrated. I noticed one couple quietly whispering to each other, clearly uncomfortable after interacting with her. Another guest asked her a question in English and was met with an eye-roll and a muttered reply that barely qualified as an answer. This wasn’t just our experience — it seemed to be a pattern.
I honestly don’t understand how management allows someone with such a poor attitude to be the face of their operation. If you’re running a ski arena — especially one that attracts international visitors — the least you can do is train your receptionists to be friendly, helpful, and professional. This blonde receptionist had none of those qualities. It was almost like she went out of her way to be as unhelpful as possible.
We ended up cutting our visit short. The negative energy at the entrance completely ruined the excitement we had coming in. It didn’t feel like a place where guests were valued. It felt like a place where we were simply tolerated — or worse, ignored.
In conclusion, I would not recommend Snow Arena to anyone unless they completely change their approach to customer service. That blonde receptionist should be retrained, reassigned, or replaced. A facility with this much potential shouldn’t be dragged down by one person’s bad attitude — but in our case, that’s exactly what happened.
I truly hope the management reads this and takes action, because until that happens, I’ll be telling others to avoid this place. There are better, friendlier alternatives elsewhere — where customers are actually treated...
Read moreVery dangerous equipment and terrible employees offering disastrous service. The lift stoped working for long time, and when it restarted again, the speed was faster than normal, one of my kids fell from the lift, and when we arrived the top, the lift was not able to slow down, my other kid fell again, the lift didn’t stop in this emergency situation. My kid was crying while the chairs keep moving next to his head. It was lucky he got down without injury. We were the last family taking the lift before they completely shut it down. Then they started T bar, my kid was not able to use the T bar. My husband got the information from the staff that the lift won’t be fixed today and we can get refund. We climbed the hill and changed clothes. In total we were skiing for about two hours (including climbing hill and waiting on broken lift) whilst we paid for four. But we were told no refund can be offered as the lift just started working again. After more than half an hour changing and unpleasant experience, kids had no mood to ski any more, so we asked if we can still get the refund as they promised. The staff Viktoria rejected and very unpleasantly asked us “just put on equipment and go back to ski for half an hour!”. She actually was the person who said the lift won’t be working anymore, but she couldn’t have any understanding of small kids who had frustration on the lift, T-bar, climbing and changing were exhausted. We were not robots, no mood for ski at all, and won’t come back here anymore! The lift is definitely dangerous, and staff couldn’t care less of...
Read moreDoughnutting was pretty rubbish, they don't slide very well. Skiing was good and the instructor Oleg was very good and patient. The receptionists and the people giving out equipment are rude and very unhelpful. First time we ran over the time by 10mins due to not seeing the clock anywhere and not knowing you can check how long you have left on the 'infometer'. The receptionist should have explained that. She tried to charge us extra but I stood my ground for the time wasted swapping doughnuts that didn't work. (Dragging them myself with a baby in arms!!) The next time I was made to feel like a criminal when the children went under the barrier whilst waiting for their dad - the receptionist ran over to us threatening with a fine. I was standing gobsmacked with the cards in my hand ready to scan. In fact, the children were told off several times whilst waiting although we do keep an eye on them as much as we can. Really not child-friendly staff. We were a family of 6 and paid around £200 euros for 2 hours so feel like should have been treated a bit better in a world class skiing centre that it is. Give the staff some training in manners and...
