Wonderful views from the top - although getting there isn’t for the faint hearted!! The tower is a stunning piece of architecture and to get to the top you take a metal staircase which you can see through so don’t look down if you’re scared of heights you might want to stop part way up. There are about 5 “floors” so you don’t have to go all the way up to get a good view of the stunning countryside. There is some information in English and Lithuanian on the boards.

I think Lithuania is famous by the different and probably unique shapes of their observation towers. Worth stopping at if you are driving nearby - large parking with an option to charge your device (we did not test it though). It's almost 10 years since the observation tower has been built so part of the information on top of it is missing, probably removed by vandals.

I was stunned to observe and climb this unique structure! Even though I visited during a cold and rainy day it was still amazing to witness this design form up close. I can only imagine how this monument turns into a meeting place for hanging out or for art performances during warmer days. Definitely a must visit if you are around!

Corbada per sobre de les copes dels arbres del parc regional de Biržai, al nord de Lituània, aquesta estructura inusual permet una vista d'ocell d'un paisatge únic. Construïda l'any 2015, es diu que la forma de la torre d'observació de Kirkilai s'assembla a un vaixell que s'enfonsa, adequat en un zona esquitxada de forats de lavabo plens d'aigua. Uns 30 d'aquests petits llacs es poden veure des de la part superior de la torre, a gairebé 100 peus en l'aire. Aquests llacs poden tenir fins a 36 peus de profunditat i són només alguns dels milers de dolines identificades al parc. Les roques solubles en aigua com el guix es troben sota el sòl en aquesta zona, i amb el temps s'erosionen gradualment, formant coves, que després s'esfondran. En alguns casos, s'omplen d'aigua, creant aquest paisatge fascinant. Els llacs interconnectats reflecteixen la vegetació dels voltants, creant un refugi paisatgístic per als amants de la natura.

The tower and area around are tidy, clean and nice. Lots of space for car parking. The swampy lakes have well built pedestrian path for a short, nice walk. There are some local vendors selling sweets and souvenirs next to the tower. If you are visiting Biržai, you should visit this place too.
