You can drive onto the small island with your car if you stay there. There's a sign that says it's allowed with a permit and you will get the permit once you are checked in. We came on a Tuesday evening in the end of July and there were plenty of free cabins. The cabin is small but still fine for a short stay. The window has a bug net so it's possible to leave it open for the night to get cool air inside. The toilet was very nice, no bad smell. Lots of activities for the kids outside. The view is stunning from the right hand side cabins overlooking the lake and the Zarasai town across the lake. It's also possible to stay with a tent. The prices in summer 2025 were: tent 6€, adult 4€, child 2€, pets free. The only annoying thing for us was that the trampoline on the water was supposed to open at 11 but opened an hour later and we had to leave by then so the kids were sad.
