This view is absolutely breathtaking. I visited this spot during a sunny day, and it offered a perfect mix of rugged cliffs and a serene lake nestled below. The contrast between the rough, dark basalt rock formations and the bright blue water is stunning. The area is peaceful, and the vantage point from this lookout gives you a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. It’s not just visually appealing but also a great spot to relax and feel connected to nature. It’s a fantastic place for photography or just to take a moment and appreciate the outdoors.
The geological features are fascinating, and the clear skies only enhance the beauty. The hike up to this spot was moderately challenging but well worth it once you see the view. There is a sturdy railing to ensure safety while enjoying the sights, so it feels secure even when standing close to the edge. The air feels crisp and fresh, adding to the calming experience. If you’re a fan of scenic landscapes, this is a must-see location. The isolation adds to the tranquility, making it a perfect getaway from the hustle of everyday life. I highly recommend visiting during the late afternoon to catch the golden light reflecting off the cliffs and water. Absolutely...
Read moreDry Falls is one of our very favorite places to visit in Eastern Washington. We always make a point to stop, and to go to the visitor center. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable and glad to answer questions. There are exhibits explaining the history of the place, the animals that inhabited it, and the awesome geological forces that created the falls, which, while dry in modern times, are quite spectacular. The large windows in the visitor center offer stunning views of Dry Falls. Of course, you can walk outside, too, for panoramic views. It's so beautiful and unlike anything else you will see, anywhere!
There's also a small gift shop stocked with books, tshirts, poster, plush animals, and all kinds of other fun souvenirs. We never leave empty-handed.
There's also a food truck just outside the visitor center entrance. There are restrooms...
Read moreWe ended up at dry Falls State Park at the end of a very long road trip across the country. We were delighted to arrive to a beautiful landscape that looks very similar to West Texas. We were greeted by the most wonderful park employee we have ever encountered, her name was Tia. She is also from Texas, and we knew instantly that we were going to have a relaxing, safe and delightful weekend. We spent the morning sitting out by the water and taking photos, and got in quite a bit of hiking before it got too hot. The views are breathtaking, the campsites are very clean, and the amenities were perfect for us. We highly recommend that anyone in East Washington comes to stay here next time they are...
