Ranomafana NP Reception and Shop — Attraction in Ranomafana

Sadly felt like a cash cow visiting this National Park. Despite the Park website advertising the 2-3hr short hike at 40,000 Ariary, we discovered that they had changed the hike name & doubled the price to 70,000 Ariary for such a short walk. This on top of the 110,000 Ariary for 2 people admission. As an independant traveler, this reaches a point when it ceases to be reasonable to pay such rates...even more expensive than visiting a top National Park back home in...

First of all the park is absolut worth visiting! Beautiful landscape and we saw a lot of lemurs. Entrance is 55k pp plus 5k pp community fee plus 90k - 150k per group for the shortest or longest track. We would recommend the longest because it also covers a nice waterfall. The tracks are generally in good conditions but if it is necessary to do brigade renovation in high season is highly questionable. It can be a little buzzy...

Abbiamo visitato questo parco nei primi giorni di Giugno ed è stata una bella esperienza, il costo dell’ingresso più quello della guida (che è obbligatorio) non sono esagerati e il personale è molto gentile e qualificato. Il percorso dirà circa 2 ore e purtroppo in questo periodo non abbiamo potuto vedere molte specie di animali presenti. Lemuri , phelsuma, camaleonti sono comunque sempre presenti. Se avere tempo in questo parco sono possibili escursioni con camminate in notturna e con la possibilità di dormire nella foresta...
