The ultimate untouched virgin rainforest. There are a few strategic places to stay near the park to explore the place. One requires a minimum of a full three days at least to enjoy the area - beach forest, forest in the hilly area, the picturesque beach itself and the marine life. What to see??? Obviously the rain forest along with the lemurs, mainly the brown lemurs and the very shy red ruffed lemurs along with a variety of birds like the vangas and the drongos and the white eyes and lots more. Living and dead corals, the various fishes and the count continues. A small fishermen village there lives, livelihood every thing to ponder upon and explore to the hearts content. And if you are lucky enough in the season the glamorous humpbacks will greet you during your sea trip from Maroantsetra to Masoala. After reading this and seeing the photos and videos are you ready for your next expedition???

Situated in the northeast Madagascar, the Masoala National Park covers nearly 250 miles of rainforest and includes three marine parks as well. The park features ten species of lemur, including the Aye-aye, the world’s largest nocturnal primate. The park is also home to a diverse array of birds and reptiles, including the Tomato frog, named for its bright red color. The Tampolo, Ambodilaitry and Ifaho marine parks are ideal for snorkeling and...
