Beautiful lake, stunning views of the surrounding landscape as well, local guide was informative and spoke excellent English. Only takes about 1-1.5 hours to hike around at a leisurely pace, but if you want to stay longer, you could as it's a very relaxing spot. Only loses 1 star because, like others have mentioned, you will get pestered to buy random souvenirs from some of the locals, who although persistent they were by no means the worst we encountered as we headed south. Read moreReally interesting volcanic lake that rises during the dry season, and falls during the rainy season. Beautiful blue appearing, clear water about 20°C that you can swim in. Easy 45-minute walk around it up and down an easy path with explanations of it and Romeo & Juliette folklore. Local guide gets in your 4 x 4 at the entrance and tells you all you need to know in great English!

But it's so worth the effort. Once you get to the bottom, you can swim in the Crater lake, take a boat ride around (highly recommend) because you see the rocks with their many hues and designs up close and can see bats. Also highly recommend the Z Zipline. It's lots of fun, very affordable and you end up in the water with a splash. Lots of fun. Take your time and don't rush...
