As they say, the hike up the mountain is the hardest part and I can attest to that. But once you reach the top, the view is absolutely spectacular. There's a striking rock wall that some jokingly call “the Great Wall of China in Malawi” 😂. Pro tip: Plan your hike on a weekday. Saturdays tend to be very crowded. Along the trail, you'll likely meet some local villagers, mostly kids, who act as guides for first-time hikers. They’ll help you navigate the route in exchange for a small fee (MK1,000 to MK2,000 is fair). Just be cautious of those who ask for money without offering any help. It’s also worth noting that Bunda Mountain is commonly used for religious activities. Many people go there for prayer and spiritual reflection, especially on weekends. So if you go during that time, expect a sacred atmosphere where people are seeking to connect with God.

As they say hiking is more fun if you reach the top. This mountain gives off that relaxing expression after reaching the top. There's that great view and that natural breeze added with the view of monkeys moving up and down. Try hiking here st at Bunda mountain. Side note: take care as there are others who would want credit without actually doing anything. 👍🏿Try it snd you won't regret the trial

I walked 43 km to get Mt.Bunda. When I almost arrived there, I used bicycle taxi with Mk2,000 (about$1.5). Really nice place it was. One side of the mountain is rocky but the other side is forest 🌳 This time (7/5) I climbed Mt.Bunda. This place is 100% for the prayers. With Shouting and crying, there were almost 50 people, And also 2 or 3 stone houses for prayers sleeping.

This is the worst place to hike in Malawi. There are dozens of children following you all the way asking you for money. They threaten to be violent and stone you. To throw stones at you when you leave. Extorts you for money so that nothing happens to your vehicle. Insults and shouts at you throughout your walk. We came twice, once with three and once with a large group of 10. Same problem each time. Even if we parked far from the village and came on foot. We were forced to give money under duress and threat. The adults in the village let this happen and also ask for money. The village chief does nothing and has not come to enforce the regulations despite our requests. This place is dangerous and unpleasant. Children should not be encouraged to extort visitors rather than go to school. Go hiking...
