Kande Beach — Attraction in Nkhata Bay

Stayed in a chalet January 22, 2019. The room smelled of mold from the damp grass roof to the extent our lungs were affected. The matter was reported to the manager. He responded that all the chalets had a mouldy odor and that there was no alternative. In addition he mentioned that the lodge catered to backpackers. We mentioned to him that we were going to spend the night in our car instead. We ended up sleeping in our car which was parked outside our room because it was too late to look for alternative accommodation. Never again will we check in to Kande Beach Lodge.

Zikomo kwambiri! My friend and I had a wonderful time at Kande .. The scenery was masomphenya, with the beautiful Lake Malawi stretching as far as the eye could see. We enjoyed a delicious plate of nsima with chambo, fresh from the lake.

The beach was clean and well-maintained, with friendly staff who made us feel welcome. We even took a boat ride on the lake, which was a thrilling experience.

When you get there you'll not want to leave. The sunset by the lake is out of this world. On our second day we rode by boat to the 'island' - a collection of rocks around 1 km from the beach. From there you get to snorkel and, for the adventurous, jump off the cliffs. The cliff jumps turned out to be the highlight of the trip there.
