The place is open when there is Rafflesia and tourist don’t understand the importance of this flower and that it’s very existence depends on the habitat. The landowners cannot depend on the availability of the bloom as a life resource but before this flower goes extinct, steps should be taken in showing conservation efforts. This is exactly what the Poring Hot Springs park rangers are doing. As an encouragement, locals are growing fruits as a source of being self sufficient. It was worth it. The flower takes many months to mature and only blooms for 5 days. There is no particular season in which it will bloom. Take note of the board at the ticketing counter to know how many flowers are blooming.
Managed to see 2 awesome rafflesia. Definitely holds up its title of being the largest flower in the world.
The flowers are fenced up so you won't be able to go near it or touch it (as it is fragile). But you can definitely get a good view of it.

Read moreIm fortunate to pass by Adenna Rafflesia Garden on my way back from Poring in mid Oct and there were Two flowers blooming at that time 30cm (1feet) and 45cm (1.5 feet) diameter. As Rafflesia only blooms every 9 months once for 5 days before dying it was fortunate timing to see two of these flowers at the same time. Fees are RM10 for Malaysian and RM30 for foreigners - you can try to negotiate for a slightly lower fee.
