Review: Bombon Kg. Marakau Fish Spa – A Unique and Refreshing Experience

I recently visited the Bombon Kg. Marakau Fish Spa, and it turned out to be a truly unique experience that I would recommend to anyone looking to connect with nature in a fun and relaxing way.

Nestled in the serene village of Marakau, the fish spa offers a picturesque setting surrounded by lush greenery and a peaceful river. The spa itself is a section of the river where you can sit along the banks and dip your feet into the water, letting the small fish nibble away at your dead skin cells.

The sensation is a bit ticklish at first, but you quickly get used to it, and it becomes quite soothing. The fish are gentle, and the experience is both refreshing and oddly satisfying as you watch them swim around your feet. It’s a natural way to exfoliate, and the clear, cool water only adds to the relaxation.

The staff at the fish spa were friendly and welcoming, providing clear instructions on how to enjoy the experience safely. The environment was well-maintained, and it was evident that they care about both their guests and the natural surroundings.

One thing to note is that the area can get a bit crowded, especially on weekends, so if you’re looking for a more tranquil experience, it might be best to visit during the weekday or earlier in the day. Also, be prepared for a more rustic experience—this is not a luxurious spa but rather an authentic, nature-based attraction.

Overall, Bombon Kg. Marakau Fish Spa offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It’s an experience that’s both fun and rejuvenating, making it a must-visit if you’re in the area. Just be ready for a bit of...

This unique fish spa earns a 5-star rating for providing an extraordinary and unexpected aquatic experience. The initial skepticism quickly turns to delight when encountering this one-of-a-kind attraction.

What sets this place apart is the remarkable opportunity to swim with enormous, docile carp. This unusual experience goes far beyond typical fish spas, offering visitors a chance to interact with these impressive fish in a natural setting.

The friendly nature of these large carp creates a truly unique swimming experience. It's not every day one gets the chance to share the water with such massive yet gentle aquatic companions.

While the concept might sound unusual at first, the actual experience proves to be fascinating and memorable. The interaction with these peaceful giants offers something completely different from standard tourist activities.

For visitors seeking unusual experiences off the beaten path, this fish spa delivers a genuinely unique adventure. The combination of novelty and natural interaction makes it a standout attraction.

This place demonstrates how sometimes the most unexpected experiences can become the most memorable parts of a...

This place is located not far from pekan Ranau, just around 15 to 20 min drive if there is not traffic congestion. Heavy traffic jam usually during school’s holidays/public holidays on the main road to go there. So planned your trip well if you wish to visit here.

It is also easily to locate, Just by the roadside. There is also plenty of free parking spaces nearby.

From the last time we visited there, the place already got so many renovations and much bigger. Many facility available such as toilets, seating area, surau(not sure if it was just for staff), food stall, souvenir and art/painting booth.

We visited the place during school’s holidays so there were crowds of people, mostly tourists. We are a bit dissapointed because cannot feed or come near to the fishes as there were too many people surround it. But yet still its ok since we can see it from afar. The fishes are fascinating.

I do get the chance to dip my leg on the cold water stream and enjoying the view for a moment.Overall it is a fun and enjoyable place to go with...

Bombon Kg Marakau entrance fee is only $5. You get to interact with big Koi fish and the native fishes in the river. The fish here are gentle and mellow, these fishes have no teeth, it will try to vacuum and suck the pellets from your hand while holding the pellets in a fist position. There are several staff in the river and they can help your group to take photos with your phone or camera. The staff would also provide suggestions on how to pet or better interact with the fishes. The staff would also provide some fish pellets if you run out. They will also remind or warn visitors if they try to carry or hold the fish. The fish here are very friendly, and since the fishes do not have teeth it does not bite. Parking is somewhat limited, so come early or be prepared to park further away and walk.
