Trombol Beach (Also known as Golden Beach), located about half an hour’s drive from Kuching, is a destination so quaint yet so unknown to many.
For photographers and models, this seemingly endless stretch of a beach is heaven. With a backdrop of small islands (Satang Island included), Trombol Beach portrays a somewhat post-apocalyptic scenery. Desert-like vastness with entire uprooted trees strewn over the dry sand, abandoned wrecked boats rusting away, debris lining along the 10km coastline; it is eerily picturesque.
Michelle and I had the entire Trombol beach to ourselves. There was just nobody around!
Getting there 🗺 -search 'Golden Beach' in Waze (the entrace is closed already, so we found the way locals access the beach) -search for the telecommunications tower, which is marked in the posted map. Ask locals around, they are really friendly and they gave us the directions to Trombol beach -park your car at the tower, and walk through the forest for about 5 minutes. You will magically appear in Trombol Beach
