Visited from Miri, the Great cave is an amazing space. It’s a 4km walk in on boardwalks you can buy a. Torch from ladies near entrance for RM15 and a cool drink. I think I did 13KM All in on boardwalks a lot of steps up and down but worth it. Painted cave is understandably protected but great cave is special all the more so for having no electric lighting I was here on merdeka weekend so there were people midweek it would be very quiet. Turn your torch off and listen to bars and birds … cool place.

If you take this itinerary on Google, be prepare to drive the last 10km on a difficult road with rocks (45min to do these last 10km if you don't have 4x4). Then, you will arrive to a village where you need to go at the end to find the entrance of the national park. The cave itself is huge, magnificent, surrounding by great nature, but dark (so bring some lights with you) and the painting are barely visible

The last of 4 caves in the Niah cave complex. Reached after a long a boardwalk and stairs with no lighting so NEED A FLASHLIGHT, then as long another walkway outside. Interesting to be able to walk around this huge cave. The rock paintings and burial-canoes, behind the fences area, are hugely significant but I think most people dont even notice!
