Visited Rantau Abang Turtle Conservation Centre during recent school holiday. The place offers a lot of educational information about turtles, their life cycle, and conservation efforts & even statistical information are displayed. Such a great effort. The place is great for kids and student to learn more about turtles.
However, it would be even better if there is a guide or facilitator or interactive boards or touchscreens to engage younger visitors. A small theatre showing a short documentary on a turtle’s journey would also enhance the overall experience and make it more memorable.
Still, a meaningful stop if you're in the area and want to support turtle conservation efforts.

Read moreThanks for creating a place like this. We learned so much here! You can also visit if you want interesting information about turtles. You can take photos, and the kids enjoyed looking at the decorations inside. Younger kids might get a bit bored though, since it’s mostly information-based 🤣. You can also join a turtle release from here. Just contact the person in charge and they’ll explain how it works. There’s a set schedule for when the release happens. Unfortunately, the outside area could use more maintenance. The signboards are very old and the turtle pond water isn’t very clean. The visuals have not been updated, grass left uncut, damaged furnitures meant for disposal were left outside of the main entrance. Even the turtle pond was in a sad state; quite ironic since it is a turtle conservation sanctuary.
