Terowong Bukit Tebuk! I have some really great memories from there. 😊 This place is a hidden gem, a tunnel that's both a natural and historical marvel. The tunnel itself is quite impressive, with its natural rock formations and the cool, damp atmosphere that gives you a real sense of adventure as you walk through it. The historical significance of the tunnel is also fascinating. It's amazing to think that it was used during the Japanese occupation, and walking through it feels like stepping back in time. The information boards are very informative, providing a wealth of information about the history of the tunnel and the area. The surrounding area is beautiful, with lush greenery and a peaceful ambiance. It's a great place for a leisurely walk or a picnic. The sounds of nature all around really add to the overall experience. The pathway through the tunnel is well-maintained and safe, which I appreciated. The local authorities have done a good job of preserving the site while also ensuring it's accessible for visitors. Overall, a visit to Terowong Bukit Tebuk is a unique and rewarding experience. It's a great combination of natural beauty and historical interest, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for something a bit different.

Terowong Bukit Tebuk - Located at Jalan Bukit Tebuk, Kampung Nibong Kubur in the District of Dungun, Terengganu Darul Iman, Malaysia. This tunnel has its own history and story which's immortalised on the tourism monument. Its was built in 1932-1936 by the Japanese with the length of 143 meters. Used as a railway line to transport iron ore from Bukit Besi to Port Sura Gate, Teluk Lipat, Dungun and stopped operating on 1970's. It's quite synonymous with the people of Dungun and the surrounding residents use the tunnel as an alternative route to the main road Kuantan - Terengganu, it's also the route to the Dungun Town. The tunnel has been restored after being neglected for a long time. Nowadays it becomes a new tourists attraction in Dungun, a nice place to stop by to take a photo or video. Worth to visit day or night.

We stopped by here on the way from Kuala Terengganu back to Johor, just for a quick visit. It’s a historical spot if you’re into seeing heritage sites. There’s a bit of information provided next to the tunnel, but the place could use some upkeep — the signage is already falling off. With regular maintenance, it could look much nicer. I don’t think many people come here though, since there’s nothing much besides the tunnel itself. After taking a few photos, we headed home.

A man-made tunnel through a stony hill to cater for transporting mineral/rocks in the early 20th century. A rare heritage of foreign capitalism in conservative Trenggano. The tunnel is located at a little village at the bank of Dungun river. A cemented surface had built on top of the former railway and accessible to motor vehicle (single track). No lighting available in the tunnel. Currently it is part of village alleyway (Jalan desa). There seems to be ongoing development/exploitation of the hill. Parking could be challenging as it has yet to be developed into...
