If you enter the first parking area marked with Broga Hill, this is private land with oil palm trees. Expect to pay RM5 per head. If you don't want to pay for that, then go on for another 150m or so and turn left there when you see a much a bigger Majlis Kajang Broga Hill sign board. Both carpark areas will converge and meet at the same point where you will see an arc with the words "Bukit Broga". Here you will see an Auntie manning a booth and making all sorts of threats about her private land route being better or you'll get trouble with the Majlis for not having a hiking guide etc - you can ignore her. Carry on on the trail on the right! There is one part where the private land's barrier impedes on the free path - you gotta exercise extra care here. After that, in general, it's not all smooth, easy hike like say, Bukit Kiara. Broga Hill can be a challenge for beginners - young and old so you will need to exercise care and have the right footwear. No joke. We did this trail more than 12 years ago but on this occasion, we found the course somewhat challenging. Maybe combination of old age and short memory! Especially if it has rained prior to the climb, you'd be in for a treacherous time. Do try to buy one of those hiking poles - two is maybe better. But once you are there (3 view points), the view is refreshing although I wouldn't purposely do this trail just for the sunrise unless you're hardcore la. Would also recommend going on a weekday and avoiding weekends and public holidays - to avoid the crowds and to really take in the whole experience at your own leisure. Takes anywhere between 30min (fit superhero) to 1hour+ (no training at all) to reach the top and another 30min or...

Key Takeaways: Two options for parking and hiking trail, public (FREE) and private (RM5 per pax parking entrance, RM5 per pax hiking trail entrance). To avoid crowds, come as early as you could, best before 6:00am. The public free route takes you directly to the 2nd hilltop (~350m above sea level). Congestions along the trail could cost you extra time as the route is not as wide as the previous route (the private one).

Broga Hill is considerably a beginner-to-intermediate-friendly hiking place, an iconic hiking place in Klang Valley I believe. You can see from its crowd during weekends and public holidays.

During my last visit, I arrived quite late at around 7:30am, but there are still latecomers who hike up later after that. There were no more parking slots at the free parking, and I had to choose the private one. For the hiking trail, I choose the public route which the majority of the hiker choose. The route was much more well-established and solid compared to during the early opening phase. The ground is solid, the fences are ready, and signboards are there too.

Along the trail, there are some parts where the congestion is a little heavy, especially those parts that are steep, slippery, and narrow. This got even worse when there are people coming down, it clashes with those that are going up. If you’re daring enough, there are actually some shortcuts created by different footprints. It could save you some time. It took me around an hour to go up, accounting for the congestion and beginner teammates.

Overall, the experience was okay. I preferred something challenging. This would suit most levels of people...

My advice to all is to avoid Broga Hill at all costs because of daylight robbery. Here are some of my personal experiences dated 2 Oct 2021. The parking area which is in an oil palm plantation charges each person RM3. Yeap, You read it correctly. It is per head entry and not per entry so if a car of 5 goes in, they will charge you RM15 (instead of RM3 per entry/per car) just for the sake of parking. Come on, the parking area is for cars, not people. I don't understand the logic of charging per person for a parking area??? Then, there is this very lowly maintained and dirty toilet with no functional tap water with a charge of RM1 per person. Since we were already there, we proceeded anyway and went past the fence to go up the hill. After that, we were greeted by several uncles guarding the only entrance to Broga Hill who demanded RM5 per person again! When questioned why are we charged twice, they simply told us that they and the parking operators are different managements. If you have a full bladder and want to empty it before you hike, please prepare RM10 per person. Also, grass and bushes grew to the main trail, as if the trail was left unattended for decades. Given the high entry fees, one would expect a well-managed trail for hikers' safety. Broga Hill is a nice place for hiking but the managements are money-minded so please avoid going there. It was indeed a very bad...

Came here 9 years ago. Those days we are allowed to park in the plantation (iirc is opened as early as 5am) which is now closed and parking is only few ringgit per car. Now we have two options 1) park beside the road [majority does that but not sure if there will be summon] or 2) drive further down till you see there is a left turn (you will see a signage shows “eco farm and broga hill parking”, take that left turn and drive all the way in till the end and you will see a estate with a large gate on your road and you may park there. If you park here, your trail will start with a very steep Tar road, if you park along the road with option one you will just walk pass the plantation which I assumed will be less tiring. Fret not, both way leads to the same destination which is to the hut / entrance taken care by a uncle and aunty. We are required to pay rm10 each person. Bear in mind, entrance will only be open around 5.45am-6.00am. Bring along your mask, Aunty and Uncle advised to wear mask when we come down from the hill, worried abang biru summon. But so far we are safe without mask because we parked at option B. Overall is a nice hiking, is cold and is very windy. Most importantly with the RM10 (even though is kinda expensive but we don’t have choice right) you have paid, is much lesser crowd compare to usual days so you can take your time and enjoy the breeze.
