My feedback from my stay last weekend

1. I had a late check in but when I arrived at the camp site, I called the ground crew and during the check in I wasn't well briefed on the facilities in the camp area. The reservation team should have given a clear guidance for campers before the arrival.

2. The sink at the kitchen area was clogged few times and residues was left by other campers with no responsibility to clear it. I called the ground crew few times but they only came once. Me and friend even cleared the clogged from the residues. Management should have stick a notice for campers to clear the residues before washing their utensils.

3. We asked few days before our arrival and was told there were no water filter on site and the water supply in the bathroom have water heater with normal temperature, turned out it was cold water. It was so disappointing.

4. I felt other camps setting up the height level are slightly higher than ours and ours was too low so we have to bend down to go into our camp everytime.

5. The toilets condition was unpleasant and could have improve so the campers can use them comfortably.

6. We was given a portable small fan and camping flash light, the portable small fan wasn't fully charged and we have to asked the ground crew to charge it and he forgot to pass back to us until we went and asked him. the camping flash light was dim and we couldn't see any usage from it. I suggest the ground crew to have check everything before the camper check in.

7. There were stray dogs at the camp site and one of the dog stole our food while we was away when we took our dirty utensils to wash, even when we wrapped our food in plastic. However the dog teared off the plastic and took away the food.

8. Late night there are still other campers talking loudly eventhough in the brochure was told to lower their voice after 10pm. The voice interrupt other campers resting time.

9. The pot should have given a bigger size to fit more food and soup and the pan should be non stick pan at least when camper fry food then it won't stick on the pan.

Overall I'm not happy...

I visited here with high expectations due to thorough research and videos on YouTube. However, I am rather disappointed. I booked the premium package, but I felt like it’s not worth it at all. First of all, the toilets are badly maintained, despite their claim to clean them twice per day. I highly doubt that. The water pressure is very low, and you can expect to experience water shortages when you’re showering and washing dishes. Paying the price for a premium package just to experience water shortages seems excessive.

Next, knowing that the site is not fully shaded and can be extremely hot during the day, they provided only one electrical fan, which was barely functioning even at the highest speed. Later, after we complained, they added another power bank-powered fan, which should have been provided in the first place. Weather can be quite chilly at night especially when it rains.

The power point provided in our package actually only comprised one outlet. The other was used as a switch to turn the decorative lights on and off, which was quite unnecessary and wasteful. It’s recommended to bring your own extension cord.

Our tent (not the one in the video) was very old and dirty, to the point where I didn’t even want to take a picture. On top of that, we found several leaks in the tent, which caused some of our belongings to get wet. During my stay, I witnessed the staff cleaning the tents, for which I was grateful, but I experienced several bug bites during my sleep. I kept waking up due to itchiness. Please bring your own bedsheets.

Lastly, other than the friendly staff, I wouldn’t recommend this place as a “glamping” venue. Having experienced both camping and glamping, I feel this place and its service fall somewhere between the two. It’s not “glamp” enough in my opinion. Here’s my honest review for the first ever camping experience in my life, as a couple.

Environment Nothing can beat the greenery, and the river is definitely a plus point as the sound of flowing water is very soothing.

Hospitality/Health Upon arrival we were quite clueless as there was no one at the gate until someone suddenly approached your car and asked for the booking number. No temperature scans, and the scan of MySejahtera was not enforced too.

Cleanliness Subpar but acceptable. You can still find a few rubbishes here and there, plus the two showers were not too properly cleaned too. Besides, my partner actually had his sole cut by a random broken glass when he was trying to get down to the river bare foot. I know that we should wear some proper shoes but….I thought the owner could be more attentive in cleaning the surrounding and to avoid hazards like this. We eventually went to a nearby clinic and got some stitches, but still returned back to enjoy the rest of the camping day.

Noise We were told that our original tent was defective and upgraded to super premium tent, which was okay of course. Unfortunately, our tent was sandwiched between two very noisy groups, and the inconsiderate campers were in high pitch talking/laughing even after low noise period. I’m not quite a night owl myself and only got to have my tranquility after 1am. Of course, we understand it’s not totally the owner’s fault but it’d be great if they can put some frequent reminders to everyone. Or, camping is not meant for couples but large group of people? :(

The owner did offer us something for the bad experiences we had which is really a nice gesture. Nonetheless, it was still a memorable trip for us, and the camp setup was actually really nice, just that we thought it was a way bit too crowded.
