I booked a stay at Rock Cabana for one night on weekday. Upon arrival, there was no one at the reception, and despite calling multiple times, no one answered. I had already informed them earlier that we would be coming in Aruz, but when we got to the parking area, we had no idea how to get up to the campsite or chalet. We tried to call again — no response. We waited for nearly an hour, then figured it out on our own.
When we finally reached Rock Village, no one greeted or at least guided us, despite being told someone would be there if we arrived before 5pm, to guide us. They only sent a confusing picture of a parking spot, which didn’t help since it was our first time there. It was incredibly frustrating to be left to figure everything out by ourselves.
I paid extra for additional 3 adults, since the price of RM180 originally for 2 adults and one kid and based on their website claiming that the chalet "can comfortably host up to 8 people." Unfortunately, this was far from the truth. The space was cramped — my dad had to sleep outside as it clearly wasn’t designed to accommodate that many guests. I honestly don’t see how 8 people could fit comfortably in that chalet.
Worse still, we were never informed that there would be no electricity, except for a short window between 7pm and 12am. This was a major inconvenience, especially with a child in tow.
To top it off, the fan in the chalet wasn't working well, it kept turning on and off by itself and again, there was no way to report it or get help, since no staff was reachable. We also weren’t informed that the on-site cafe would close at 6pm, which left us unprepared.
Overall, this was a disappointing and stressful stay. The lack of communication, poor service, and misleading information made the experience frustrating and uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend if anyone wants to bring their elders or kids here unless they are really really really into adventure and can accept such situations... dengan redha.
The 2 stars is only for the view up there and the memories created...
Read moreSubhanAllah… MasyaAllah… the view is really beautiful. At that time I went around 3 p.m., it was a bit hot. If you want an even more stunning view like a “carpet of clouds,” you should come early in the morning.
For me, everything was okay, just that it would be better if they provided more transport so it could be faster. Parking costs RM5, and the entrance fee is RM5 per person (be careful with hidden charges).
Honestly, I feel like everything here is mostly self-service. As for staying overnight there, I’m not sure about the price—you can contact the owner. If you want to take the pickup truck, you must call first, and they will fetch you from the parking area. Walking is possible, but when I went, it was very hot and the walk from the parking area was quite far—around 1 km.
The drinks at the café were not bad either, quite tasty, around RM8 per cup. I feel that if you stay overnight here, it would be even better—highly recommend it for those who want...
