Pantai Melawi — Attraction in Kelantan

📍Pantai Melawi, Kelantan What better way to FACE the monsoon season than by EMBRACING it? While Michelle and I were separated by distance, I decided to venture AGAIN to Kelantan with the best of friends. Kelantan with all its beaches and cuisine was simply too fun to be missed.

It was raining HEAVILY when we arrived. While everyone looked for shelter, we embraced the rain and had the most amazing time. Thankfully, the rain stopped eventually. We saw some locals braving the strong waves, so we simply HAD to join the fray (we were scared to death, so we only prodded at the shallowest areas. I don’t recommend swimming in these waves at all!). The monsoon season is no joke, with surf waves constantly barraging the sandbanks!

Pantai Melawi truly has its charm. ATVs are readily available for rent at RM 40 for half an hour. A picturesque set of swings with the backdrop of the sea looms in the middle of beach. I can imagine how crowded this place would be without the monsoon season.

Pantai Melawi is only a 20-minute drive from Kota Bharu. It was one of our favourite beaches to have visited during this excursion...

Pantai Mek Mas, Kuala Besar yang dikenali ‘laut terbelah’ Sawah Padi Wakaf Bata, Machang antara tempat untuk fotoshoot.
