Coming to Tumpat Kelantan for a brief holiday brings an excitement of mixed feelings, especially when you're visiting a Buddhist temple or Wat in a Malay dominated community.

Our first stop was Wat Phikulthong in Tumpat, Kelantan, a majestical temple in its rights that offers visitors a glimpse into Thai Buddhist architecture and culture. You will find a tall standing Buddha statue designed in gold standing majestically among the skylight. The golden facade of the statute gleams under the sun, inviting visitors to explore its intricate design.

Visitors can pay their respects to the impressive golden Buddha statue. The temple grounds are well-maintained, providing a peaceful to contemplate.

Overall, Wat Phikulthong is a must-visit destination for anyone visiting the district of Tumpat for the very first time to explore the rich cultural heritage of the local Siamese community within the serene setting of Kelantan. ....................... If you like my review,...

This Wat is not only a place of worship but a Buddhism school. It is also a meditation center that offers a peaceful retreat for those seeking spiritual calm from the city’s bustle.

The majestic standing Buddha does crate a sense of tranquility perfect for quiet reflection.

Located along the Tumpat coastal road (it was about 30 mins drive from Kota Bharu city center). A great stop to those in Tumpat on a Wat-hopping route and photography enthusiasts – the towering Buddha against Kelantan’s tropical blue sky is amazingly breathtaking. Enjoy the...

A Therawada Buddhist temple with beautiful ancient Siamese Buddhist architecture. Its next to another Therawada Buddhist Temple called Wat Cheng. You can also find some Thai food stalls or Cafe (Tiffin Cafe) across the street. Further down is a small restaurant serving authentic Thai food called Barn Rao. Further up is Tumpat town. If you are there, bring along some food for the abandoned dogs or bread to the fishes at the pond. If you are a Buddhist, you may performed food Danna to the Monks or donate towards Building funds, meditation centre and upkeep of...
