If you have soft heart for animals, I recommend you to avoid it. My partner and I just got out of this place in disbelief and horrified. The cages were too small with only sand and dead trunks to act as their habitat? This place should be visited by the authorities and world wildlife organisations to check and teach about proper ways to deal with animals!! They are not toys, and they are not things!

The animals are kept in tiny cages, there is no proper ventilation and RACOONS (for example) were walking in the door area in panic not stoping once...that stage is leading to their health deteriorating!!! They were disoriented, anxious and seeking where to hide! The fennec foxes also out for everyone to see them but no place for them to hide and rest!!! Some birds as peacocks, parrots were in a bad shape, their wings and feathers in bad shape. It is too warm there, with no proper ventilation and sunlight, small place with few plants around. A small Meerkat was also running in its small cage, nowhere to hide and all alone! Poor poor animals! The eagles were in tiny cages, the crocodiles had two small ponds and there was a small monkey in a cage all by himself. When i asked why, they told me his partner died a year ago! They should be free :( Animals need to be respected, in their habitat, when they want to be seen they will do it...if not, they shouldn't be forced.

The name of this place is misleading! This is just a regular awful zoo, not a wildlife animal park. And the animals there face misery every day. I wish I knew before coming there.

The people working there were really nice, but also doing what they are told to do.

Please please change the business type, collaborate with world organizations for animal wellbeing, they can teach/show how to treat animals properly, and start to care for animals for who they...

Bought my tickets for RM33+ per Malaysian adult through Klook because usually Klook sells a bit cheaper compared to walk in. However, after visit I got to know that walk in rate for Malaysian adult is at RM35 so if anyone wants to go can just walk in because not much difference.

This price just increased last year and so many people complained about it. No wonder not many visitor when I came eventhough it was during weekend and on top of that, it was during school holiday.

And then, to feed the animals you may buy food pack at RM9/pack. I would suggest for each person to buy 1 food pack for better experience instead of just sharing.

The food pack consists of fish pellet, nuts & sunflower seeds, cabbages, kangkung, apple, some corn.

At this place, they have about 3-4 proper spots to take pictures which they will later sell to you at the end of the visit. You can politely decline if you don't want to spend your money for the pictures.

The place is quite vast, I dont understand why people say it is limited but I guess everyone has their own opinion. Compared to Farm in the city in seri kembangan, I prefer this one more (both are petting zoo, priced at RM35-RM40 per adult)

These are the pros that I can list.

  1. More variety of animals available
  2. Comfortable walkway throughout the park with good ventilation and abundance of seats

I also saw that this place will be having tiger soon? Cant wait if they will actually have tiger at such petting zoo/park!

At first I thought I would only get to feed like 2-3 animals only but actually, it was more than that. So do not finish off the food pack very soon πŸ˜‚ because they will be plenty of animals waiting at the end.

Overall, I would recommend this...

I’m not against zoos. I love animals and many zoos have them in good condition. This is not one of them. I’ll try and make a list:

  1. Racoons’ are living in small enclosures and are visibly stressed: they pace up and down continuously. The habitats are 3 logs crossed and a small hut, that’s all. Their habitat were the worst of all park considering racoons are very smart animals.
  2. Guinea pigs were running free in an enclosed area were kids could come in completely unsupervised. I’ve read there is always staff to make it safe but it’s not true. I was sitting there for 10-15 minutes and kids were running around, some trying to kick the Guinea pigs. Staff were coming and going and nobody paid any attention to the animals. And yes, kids were grabbing animals from the floor and playing with them as if they were toys.
  3. Sugar gliders. As awful as racoons. 3-4 sugar gliders in a cage of about 70x40 cms. Once a day they take one out and let kids play with it. They offered it to my kid but the poor animal was trembling so scared we refused.
  4. There is a vervet monkey in a cage, alone. I asked staff and they told me there was another monkey but died. The other monkey I think was a blue monkey. One poor animal of each species, in a cage of about 80 m3.
  5. Rabbits were missing most of their fur (stress? Sickness?).
  6. Braman kite and white bellied eagles were sad to look at. They are magnificent birds who don’t belong in a zoo. There are many in the sky in Langkawi, people just have to look up to see them flying high. Some other animals, specially small birds, looked good and their enclosures were fine. There are many bird species in SE Asia and this could have been a great aviary instead of a horrific...

The Langkawi Wildlife Park, previously known as Bird Paradise, is a zoo which houses many species of birds and animals. Established in the year 2002, at Jalan Ayer Hangat, it spreads over five acres of land. The park is roofed from entry to exit which makes it excellent for days with less than ideal weather. The zoo hosts about 150 types of small animals and birds from Russia, Africa and Australia which are divided into several sections. The most interesting part of this park is a walk-in aviary with a manmade cascade, where about 1500 birds live and fly around. Some birds are very friendly and will happily perch on your hand if you have some birdfeed. Large flightless birds such as the Cassowary, Emu and Peacocks are also nearby. The Reptile and Mammal section will let you embrace giant pythons and see cute Saharan desert Fennec foxes. The Reptile Section also has prehistoric crocodiles, docile iguanas and turtles. The Birds of Prey section has brahminy kites and white bellied eagles. The eagle feeding show is a popular attraction and should not be missed. If you are feeling gutsy enough, then these raptorial birds can also perch on your hands. In the primate section, you can feed tiny vervets, long tailed macaques, and a number of other colourful birds by buying a variety food bag at the entrance. The Zoo is small and can be completed in an hours time. for the time spent, the cost of entrance and taxi fare is pretty steep. this can be missed if you are pressing for time.
