Being a non-hiker, this is the mountain I ever climbed and I felt excited before I knew what awaited me during the climb with a height of 885m. It took about 2hrs journey from Kuala Lumpur to Rembau and we reached the parking area around 9.30am. The parking spaces all occupied and I guess there will a lot of people at the top.

Once you are ready, do ensure you go to the toilet first as they will be no toilet on the way up, LOL. The entrance fees (RM5) and you can pay it at the counter once you cross the small bridge. Regular hikers will describe the hike is manageable but for me, being a first timer, it was so difficult though it is only 6 km in distance. I almost make a U-Turn since I don’t think I can do it. But while am writing this, I kinda miss to come again to visit this place :)

The surface is steep and rocky and you have to be extra careful. The proper hiking shoes is crucial and since I don’t have any gloves, I got few scratches while climbing up. We took 2.5hrs to climb up and 2hrs to go down. Since it is foggy and cloudy, you can’t have a perfect view of Pekan Rembau from the hill top. It is quite windy and cold and thus, please be extra careful and don’t forget to carry down your own rubbish #saveourforest. Last but not least, you should try itik salai, daging salai or keli salai , the Negeri Sembilan...

Puncak Gunung Datuk is located at Rembau,Negeri Sembilan. This place is not only for young climbers but you also can see a group of old people climb here. If u are climber,u can go as single climber or by group, doesn't matter but the most important is your energy. There is a track to get to the top and also got information board at starter. Makesure follow the red white tape or if u see yellow plastic tape then it will lead u to the right track. Makesure wearing a suitable attire during climbing or in the jungle.U know what I mean. U can see any insect in the jungle at anytime is it?. Wear proper shoes, pants, and bring some water during climbing. It will take about 2 hours to get to the top and somewhat less when u get down. There also have the facilities such as chalets for stay, camping sites, also got tent for rent. Entrance fee starting from rm5 depends on how many people. The moment u get to the top will be unforgettable moment where u can see very good view which is also can see the straits of Malacca...

Challenging but Amazing Hike! It took us over 5 hours to complete. Not for beginners – I’d say it’s moderate to hard. At check-in, Malaysians pay RM5 cash, and non-Malaysians need to bring their passport and pay RM20 cash per person. The first part of the hike is the hardest – very steep! It takes about 2+ hours to reach the top. There’s a rest stop after 1300 meters. Bring some food or ready-to-eat snacks for the top—you’ll be really hungry. You can cook there, but please take your trash back with you. The view from the peak is amazing and refreshing. But be very careful—it’s risky. If you fall, it’s dangerous. Don’t take silly risks. Safety is more important than showing off. Coming down is easier and faster (about 30% less time), but still slippery. Many people wore the wrong shoes and had a hard time. We even saw some broken shoe soles on the trail! Overall, it’s a great challenge and a great experience. Be prepared, wear proper shoes, and enjoy the hike safely!

This mountain peak is just 2 km from the entrance, which is the Hutan Lipur Gunung Datuk. The permit to hike is MYR 5.00 per person. Usually, it takes about 1 hour 30 minute to reach to the top. The problem is to reach the stone peak, which we have to climb the aluminium steel ladder(safe enough), which is a one way only. Overall, it is worth the hike. The trail is obvious for everyone and marked well but remember, wear hiking shoe(rubber) for the stone peak because you might fall with normal shoe or sport shoe like me who almost fall. Better start your trekking before 10 am and return before dark, better to have trekking buddy. Hiking alone is dangerous. Bring enough water atleast 1.5L because there is no waterpoint along the trails, food & snack. Follow the trail which straight up and will lead to summit. Take a guide if you’re not confident and first timer here.

We planned to start hiking at 7:30AM but we arrived a bit late so it starts at 7:47AM and arrived at the peak at 10:15AM. The sun is kinda just above us but the peak is very windy hence people still can stay quite long at the peak for photo sessions. We took a lot of break as the trail is steep since the beginning. It got better after 2 rounds of steep trail. To go to the peak you need to climb a steel ladder. The ladder are very sturdy and your hand can grip the handrail easily so no worries! Just be careful when you’re at the peak. It took us 5 hours in total going ups and downs. The trail is very clean, rarely see any trash. So please hike responsibly and keep it as it is!
