We were ready to explore the famous Rainbow Waterfall right after we reached the Sunrise Hill. Everybody was already used to the rough riding of the 4x4 vehicles, and even the small kids were enjoying the rides.
We reached the final port where all the 4x4 vehicles had to be stationed, and everything had to be on foot from there onwards. There was a toilet for both men and women at the pitstop, so it was a good time to ease yourself before the ascend. We also had our breakfast of Nasi Goreng here, and that was supposed to fuel up our energy for the tough climb.
We had to start by crossing a small stream, and the water was not deep, but the current was quite strong. Fortunately, there was a tight rope across the stream for us to hold on to, and that had helped us a lot. From then, it was another 1.2 km of rough trails and rocks to overcome, which took us about an hour to complete. Again, the ropes were there at the tough and challenging places, which most of us utilized to our advantages. Without the ropes, the whole climb would have set us back another 30 minutes, easily.
Upon reaching the final destination of our ascend, we were met with a huge vertical rockface, with trickles of water coming down from it. As time went on, the volumes of water became more apparent, and the body of water underneath became deeper. The water in the natural pool was so cooling and refreshing, so obviously after the sweating uphill excercise I immediately jumped in. The korean students couldnt help themselves either, hence the screams of excitements colud be heard throughout the waterfall...
The sun had to be positioned at a certain height and location for the sunrays to reflect the rainbow image across the wide rockface. But we were not so lucky this time, as the volume of water and the positioning of the sun were not exactly in our favors. Yet, it was still plenty of fun for our group, as this was basically the first time for everyone...
After we had enough fun and frolicks at the waterfall, it was time to leave. We were careful to bring back all our own rubbishs and trashes, to ensure this precious natural attraction was not littered indescriminately. Descending down the hill appeared to be more difficult actually, as the tracks had became wet and slippery. Hence, we had to be more careful and cautious, as it took us longer to reach the pitstop at the bottom of the hill. After that, we had another round of thrilling rides on the 4x4 vehicles, until we reached another small stream where we had our lunch while sitting at the sides of the stream.
Finally, we were ready to bid farewell to the historic Sungai Lembing town, carrying with us all those beautiful memories created from this extraordinary...
Read moreWent to Sungai Lembing rainbow waterfall on 10/7/2022 Sunday which is the first day of Hari Haji. The place was packed with big crowds. We paid RM60 each to a tour agent one day before the hiking via homestay owner to get us the permit to enter the sungai lembing rainbow waterfall. After the early sunrise tour, we immediately get into Toyota Hilux car to go to the base of the rainbow waterfall. It took an hour on the Hilux to get to the base on a super duper lumpy bumpy bad road condition with necessity to cross few rivers. We sat at the back of the Hilux. One Hilux car can sit 3ppls at the front, and 12 ppls at the back. After reaching the base, there are plenty of space for parking and everyone is queuing to go to the loo prior to hiking towards the Rainbow waterfall which will take an hour that cover 1km journey. For those who didn't bring their hiking shoes or anti-slippery shoes, you can rent it from the Orang Asli with only RM3 and you can even rent a hiking stick for RM0.50. Remember to return it to them as this is the source of income for them. The hiking is considered moderate to difficult and took some stamina as you are required to climb on big rocks and graping on the ropes to support your balance. I brought both my parents aged 70++, only my mother was able to go to the top and see the magnificient waterfall. Many elderly and young aunties that have knees problems couldn't reach to the top chose to sit at a flat ground approximately 200m before the waterfall. Many waited there for their family or friends. Once we reached the top, we saw a very high waterfall running from the tall mountain. The driver of the tour agent prepared us some snack (Maggie Mee) and some drinks (coffee/tea/Milo). They took the mountain water to boil and cook for us. We enjoyed the scenery with the view. Unfortunately we couldn't see the rainbow as the sun was shy away and the sky was blanketed with lots of clouds. It was a cloudy day! The tour agent said usually rainbow will appear after sunlight shining on the rocks. Feeling sad as many of us hiked and climbed all the way to witness the paradise rainbow waterfall. However, the view is still breathtaking and I would definitely to come again! Don't keep the area clean so that more generations can witness the fantastic rainbow...
