The park is comprised of a large tract of protected forest, with a flowing river and lush greenery. Visitors can explore the forest by taking one of the many hiking trails that wind through the park. The trails vary in difficulty, making the park suitable for people of all fitness levels. Along the way, visitors are likely to encounter a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, birds, and other tropical animals.

One of the highlights of Bukit Panchor State Park is the Canopy Walk, which is a suspension bridge that allows visitors to walk among the treetops and get a bird's-eye view of the forest below. It's an adventurous activity for the visitors to experience, where they can see the forest from a different perspective. The walk is quite safe and well-maintained, and the view from the top is spectacular.

The park also features several picnic areas and shelters, making it a great place to spend the day with friends and family. Additionally, there are toilets, changing rooms and refreshment stands available, so visitors can spend the whole day at the park comfortably.

Beautiful place to visit. Bukit Panchor State Park (GPS: 5.16068, 100.54804), or Taman Negeri Bukit Panchor, is a tract of protected forest in Nibong Tebal, Penang. It covers an area of 445 hectares and reaches a height of 416 meters. The Bukit Panchor State Park is located within the Bukit Panchor Forest Reserve, which was established in 1963 in Seberang Perai Selatan. It was created so that the general public has a recreational area while at the same time, learn to appreciate the forest better.

There are 8 hectares set aside as camping ground. Located by the banks of Sungai Buaya, it is ideal for family outings as well as group activities. The area can take up to 200 participants at one time. Within the state park is Taman Wetland, which offers visitors an opportunity to explore and learn about the mangrove forest. There are also a few caves within the state park that can be explored. The main one is Gua Kelawar, or Bat Cave, named after the multitude of bats...

I'm impressed by the variety and size of the trees around the area which shows the trees' age. There are plenty of facilities for public use such as toilets, playground, open hall, jogging path and even chalet. Unfortunately the place itself is not properly maintained by Penang municipal. Perhaps due to small number of visitors that they thought it was not worth maintaining the state park. Overall the park is suitable for recreational activities with families and friends but needs improvement and better promotion...

This Bukit Panchor state park was declared many years ago together with Pulau Jerejak state park. Too bad Pulau Jerejak state park was just being forgotten by the state government. Not much improvement since my last visit some 6 years ago. Today this state park border has been extensively developed for tourism by the Kedah state government and naming Bukit Panchor peak as Bukit Angin. An old heritage border stone marker between the British and Siamese kingdom can be seen about an hour hike from the car park.

A forest area that is still preserved with flora and fauna, suitable for relaxing on weekends with family and groups, in addition to hiking activities where the distance between the starting and finishing points is approximately 5 KM. However, activities involving water cannot be done because the river is shallow, probably due to the summer season.

A state park managed by the Forestry Dept. Quite deep in the interior. Located among villages. Nothing much. A few chalets to let. A canteen which was closed when we were there. Visitors can walk up a 1.5 km tarred road and beware of leeches. Prior permission must be obtained from the dept if one wishes to hike the jungle trail beyond this point.
