Crowded on weekends & holidays: Visitors report heavy crowds on public holidays, with noise levels spiking and even displacing the resident monkeys .

Read moreTeluk Batik Beach always comes to my mind when I piece together memories of a day enjoying the sun and sea on a beach with family and friends. It was 34 years ago when I was posted to Lumut. On many sun bathed weekends my family and I would wile away the time on the beach which would be full of like minded picnickers and holiday makers.
The beach is only about 4 km from Sitiawan town and about 1 km from the TLDM Base. Situated in Lumut town, it provides access to the beach to the mainlanders.
The usual festival like atmosphere would unfold especially on weekends.
The beach is well provided with lifeguard watch towers, shower facilities, toilets as well a whole array of gift shops and eating stalls.

Read moreHaven't been here for ages. The whole place has been upgraded and very well designed. There is a huge beautiful landscaped public park at the front part of the beach. Paved walkway good for brisk walking or jogging and an area with a few rides for kids. Found some nice flowering trees in between. The parking nearer to the beach is RM3 per car now. Used to be free for all. Different rates for different vehicles. Most shops were like abandoned. There were some nicely built traditional kampong houses for homestay, some interesting structures like a colorful light house etc for photographing. The beach looks okay but not the sea though. Heard many complaints about the polluted oily sea water from the nearby construction being not suitable for swimming. I wouldn't like to try.
