Lata Kinjang is one of the tallest waterfalls in Malaysia. Located in Chenderiang, Perak, the waterfall is 200m tall, and can be seen from the North-South Expressway. But many people have never actually visited the fall, because the access road is not straightforward. Coming from KL via the N-S highway, you take the Tapah exit and continue north on the trunk road nr 1. Follow the signboards to Chenderiang. Past this village the road to the falls is clearly indicated. At the end of this raod, there are hawker stalls and you can park your car. At the bridge the cemented steps come to an end and so does the easy part of this waterfall. On both sides of the cascade you can climb further up, but the trail is sometimes vague and relentlessly steep. But you get a reward. At the top of the cascade there is a last, vertical fall. From the top of the cascade the view of the surrounding landscape with deep down the N-S highway, is spectacular. It is possible to climb up further, to the delapidated pump station, but you must take care, orienteering is not always easy. To go down, you can cross the stream and find your way down. through the neglected rubber plantations. Not easy, this is Orang Asli country, there are numerous vague trails, and take care about traps! If you keep left, going down, you should come across...

Visited Lata Kinjang over the weekend and it was such a refreshing escape into nature! Entry is affordable – RM6 per adult and RM3 for warga emas. Parking fee is RM5, though there are only a few parking lots available, so it's best to arrive early, especially on weekends when the place gets really crowded.
The waterfall itself is absolutely stunning – the powerful flow and white cascading water make for a picture-perfect view. The area is well-maintained and clean, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Toilet usage is 50 sen, though note that there's no body shampoo or shower amenities.
The rocks around the waterfall are quite slippery, so do be cautious while exploring. That said, there’s plenty of space to sit, cook, and eat, making it ideal for a family picnic or a day out with friends. You can even go for a hike – and trust me, the view from the top is breathtaking. A true reward for nature lovers!
Compared to Lubuk Timah, I personally found Lata Kinjang to be more impressive and fulfilling. It’s spacious, peaceful despite the crowd, and full of natural beauty. A perfect spot for anyone who loves nature and wants to reconnect with it.
Definitely will come again! "Love nature and nature will...
Read moreI recently visited the Lata Kinjang recreational area and had a wonderful time. The journey from Tapah Town was straightforward, covering about 18 km to reach this beautiful spot .
The entrance and parking fees are very reasonable, making it an affordable day out. It's a great idea to visit on a weekday as it was not crowded at all, allowing us to enjoy the serenity of the falls without the hustle and bustle.
For future visitors, I would highly advise bringing your own food and drinks while having your own picnic gives you more flexibility. For those looking to extend their stay, I noticed there are also air-conditioned chalets available, which seem like a comfortable option for an overnight trip .
The surroundings are absolutely lovely, with lush greenery and the sound of the waterfall creating a peaceful atmosphere. Best of all, there are lots of natural spots perfect for a refreshing dip in the water. This place is managed by the Orang Aali which help to support their activities. All in all, it's a fantastic place for a nature retreat, and I would definitely recommend it and...
