Historical Museum basically about The Kings of Perlis which were recorded way back from Siamese Ruling, Japanese Occupation till British Empire until before and after inaugural of the 1st King of Perlis. This museum also recorded the excavation of early Proto Civilization, their pots and tools etc. In one section there is also collections of all sorts of keris - short handy Malay weapons, parang, golok, lading, kerambit, tekpi, badek, lawi, lembing, tombaks as well as small canons. This museum also collects all kinds of agriculture farming tools, fishing traps etc used by locals. A section also displays item/material used during the Kings Inaugral Collections. Under a roofed garage, three Vintage Cars for Official used were displayed as well. But unfortunately the Roll Royce, Bently and Daimler (if not mistaken) were not well taken care off. An eye sore... the Daimler were left unkempt with tyres left flat! Overall the museum is...

We were so happy this well maintained museum opened during the Labor Day holiday. Compared to a few others museums we visited in Malaysia, this is among the best museum with plenty of information about the Perlis state and their royal family. The landscaping is very good, surrounding is nice and clean. The museum is built on the site of the Kayangan Fort, and it is surrounded by stone hill. Its artifacts is less, but all the item displayed is very well maintained and explained. The design is one of the best we have seen in Malaysia. Artifacts are located in a few buildings where visitor need to be prepared to take some walk around the museum area. Suggest to bring some umbrella as it can be very hot in Perlis. If you are the type of knowledgeable traveller, this is a must come spot during your visit to Perlis. It is also a perfect spot for Insta...

Muzium Kota Kayang is a museum in Bukit Kayang, on the outskirts of Kuala Perlis. It is sited in an area rich with history. Within the vicinity of the museum are archaeological excavations revealing human habitation going back to the Neolithic age. Two of the tombs of Kedah sultans are also located nearby.

Muzium Kota Kayang provides a fascinating glimpse into the history of the surrounding area. On display are the prehistoric artefacts that were discovered in the nearby caves of Bukit Kayang.

There is now a well-maintained path from the museum to the mouth of the cave itself. According to the museum, Neolithic discoveries have been made at a few...

Very happy to find this place since Archeological museum Lenggong closed for renovation. Located in peaceful beautiful place. Excellent maintenance. Spacious garden. I discovered and explored 3 but possibly more caves in the area. Exhibition also good. Placed in 3 buildings. Impressed by Raja's bedroom and others. A lot of information about rice culture (so you can skip Paddy museum and find everything here). Visited on weekend and the place was not crowded. Spacious parking, no stress about parking lots or jam. Came in the afternoon so time was not really enough. Definitely will visit again and recommended for everyone interested of history.

This museum is a great place for children to learn about local history. However visiting adults with ample historical consciousness will soon realise how most exhibits are readily available materials, easily accessible either via reading or the internet. Perhaps the museum management could come up with a fresher and mind challenging approach instead of the conventional way of place and display. The premise and its compound are properly maintain. Meanwhile its interior is squeaky clean. Me and my family were the only visitors at the time. I guess that explains how it manages to remain so pristine.
