Bohey dulang island is nothing much to say coz it got no llace ro stay instead of the hiking track which some of the nearest island resort offer u a trip to this island... Buttttt...for the hiking lover...i should say this hiking track 3/5 star dificult...it just around 700 meter long walk and 300 above sea level....but once u up there...the view is increbidle...shitttt...!!! It surrounding with so many small island and it blue ocean with is white sand....so can u guys imagine the pict that u going to have with ur phone or camera....such a breahtaking moment and it like all of yours tiredness of climbing up pay off... This island myb around 40 minutes from semporna by speedboat...not so far and dont worries...all of the island around u have their own safety oficcer such like a polis ( PGA ) ARMY....Navy n maritim malaysia...so worries less ualls... 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Breathtaking views and a rewarding hike—Bohey Dulang is worth every step!

Bohey Dulang Hike Overlook is one of those rare experiences that truly lives up to the hype. The trek to the top takes about 30 minutes, and while it’s a steady uphill climb, it’s well worth the effort. The trail winds through lush jungle with high humidity, so be prepared to sweat! If it’s rained recently, the path can get quite slippery, but thankfully, the route is well-marked and supported by guides, with ropes and wooden walkways in place to help you navigate the steeper sections safely.

I highly recommend wearing proper sports shoes, and if the ground is wet, be ready for muddy patches—having the right footwear makes a huge difference in avoiding slips.

Now, the reward at the top? Absolutely jaw-dropping. The panoramic view over the turquoise lagoon and surrounding islands is one of the most stunning I’ve seen anywhere in the world. And yes—the photos you see online? They’re real. The scenery looks exactly like that in person, if not better. It’s the kind of place that makes you stop and just soak it all in. Honestly, it’s worth traveling to Semporna just for this hike.

Before or after your trek, there’s a small shop at the base where you can grab snacks and drinks at very reasonable prices. And let me say—the fresh coconut water there is some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Perfect for rehydrating after the climb.

If you’re visiting Sabah, don’t miss Bohey Dulang. It’s a perfect mix of adventure, nature, and...

This viewpoint offers spectacular vistas but comes with some notable challenges that affect the overall experience. The 25-minute hike culminates in stunning views that largely justify the effort involved.

The trail conditions present significant concerns. The path appears poorly maintained for the volume of visitors it receives, leading to multiple incidents of tourists slipping. Better trail maintenance and infrastructure would greatly enhance safety and accessibility.

The implementation of peculiar hiking regulations adds an unnecessary layer of complexity to what should be a straightforward experience. These arbitrary rules seem to create more confusion than actual safety benefits.

Despite these drawbacks, the panoramic views from the summit prove truly rewarding. The spectacular vistas of the surrounding islands and waters make the challenging ascent worthwhile.

For those considering this hike, it's important to note that while the destination delivers impressive views, the journey requires careful attention due to trail conditions. The relatively short 25-minute duration makes it accessible, but proper caution is necessary.

The combination of breathtaking views and manageable hiking time outweighs the infrastructural shortcomings, though improvements to trail maintenance and regulation would greatly enhance the...

This state reserve were originally inhabited by small numbers of bajau tribe and sea gypsies on-and-off for a number of generations. Until today, there still exists a small bajau village at the far side of Bohey Dulang island. At the time of visit, the state nature park was still off-limit to tourists. We were granted entry by the District Manager for Sabah Parks as part of an academic and official study. Sometime in the 1980s till late 1990s, a Japanese company was given a permit by the state government to run a pearl cultivation facility. It caused no harm to environment, but the economic spillover effect was minimal. Later, diving and snorkeling was allowed to boost local economy and promote the island's eco-tourism prowess. This part of Sabah's Coral Triangle Initiative certainly prides itself with majestic maritime hill view which only few places can match. Looking forward for revival of the state's eco-tourism once current pandemic ends.

Bohey Dulang is the second-largest island amongst the Tun Sakaran Marine Park Island. To get to Bohey Dulang, you will need to take a 30-minute boat ride from Semporna mainland. You will need to wear covered shoes on this challenging but rewarding hike. The newly established route allows only for a one-way route; 700 metres heading up, and 600 metres heading down, aided with some staircases along the way. Day trips to Bohey Dulang include trips to other neighbouring islands as well and can quickly be booked through tour agents in Semporna. The difficulty of the hike up is highly dependent on your stamina. But fret not for those who are less fit, you will be mesmerized by the beautiful view upon reaching the top and that Instagrammable moment, it what makes the hike all worth it. “Super exhausting but worth the trip” would be a common expression for visitors. Open Daily from 8am to 4pm.
