Hello! Great! Here also you can see one of the most spectacular views of Mount Kinabalu along the road to Kundasang, 88 km inland across the ridges of the Crocker Range that separates the West Coast from interior plain at the foothills of Mount Kinabalu lies the small townships of Kundasang and Ranau, the 'Market Garden' of Sabah. The cool air provides a suitable climate for fruits and temperate vegetables. The Crocker Range National Park, at 139,919 hectares (1,399 sq.km.) is also Sabah's largest park. Gazetted in 1984, it forms the backbone of Sabah dividing the West coast from the interior region. This area is crisscrossed by numerous trails used by the local Dusuns who stay in scattered and isolated villages. A 3-4 days trek through this area from 5,000 ft. to sea level is an experience not to be missed. An hour's drive or 58km over the Crocker Range along the K.K-Tambunan road at an altitude of 4,000 feet is Tambunan Rafflesia Centre, a 356 hectare Forest Reserve gazetted in 1984. A walk through the dipterocarp forest on the slopes of the Crocker Range takes the visitor through plots of land where the unique Rafflesia pricei is found. Beatrice Bagavan

Gunung Alab Motel is an excellent choice for those traveling to Tambunan. Surrounded by a cooler environment than Kundasang, this motel offers a comfortable and refreshing stay. The surrounding area is filled with beautiful flora and fauna, providing a picturesque view for guests to enjoy. The food served at the motel is decent and can satisfy your hunger after a long day of travel. Additionally, the hot drinks available can help warm you up on those chilly nights overwhelmed by the cold mist. With its convenient location and comfortable amenities, Gunung Alab Motel is a great choice for those looking for a refreshing and rejuvenating stay.

Poor road surface prevented the taxi from taking me and my wife to the ranger station. Had heard so many amazing stories about the views and wildlife from the locals in KK: it became a must visit on our trip. I can’t tell you just how disappointed we were to find the road not passable. Sadly we aren’t able to walk so missed this opportunity. Please please fix the road as we’ve been told it has been like that for months. So sad 😞

Oh we went on a trail called Salt Trail, at least a part of it. Spent Keamaatan here with some village folks. They were freaking awesome. Would definitely recommend coming here for hikes and visiting villages along the way. The walks are long but worth it. Can range from 5-8 hours a day depending on how fast your pace is. We hired s truck to take our bags so we can take it easy hiking.

One of the beautiful national parks in Sabah that is worth visiting for flora & fauna. The park itself is huge, and there are many sub-parks located within the main national park. There are many trails available, some easy, some medium to hard. But you must register with the park office before exploring or going on a hike. Locals pay RM10 per person.

I visit Crocker Range at a inabong regularly and it is an amazing place, loads of wildlife and birds. Great views of the mountain (Nt Kinabalu) the only challenge is getting there are the road has become eroded and difficult to drive along. Please help fix the road so that more people can enjoy this special place
