Last Saturday 6th August, my family group went camping at this place. It was the first time we camped here.

Since each family lived in a different places so our meeting point at Putera Perdana Telipuk. After all gathered together, we started our journey till we reached Minakit Retreat entry point. We parked our vehicles near the roadside. A few minutes later, the owners came to meet us. Enquiring if we were the group that booked for camping that day. He informed us about the roads down to the camp site were steep, winding and slippery. Only 4WD vehicle can access the road. At that time, we have two units of 4WD and we rented the owner 4WD to transport us down to the camp site.

On our way down the narrow, steep, winding and slippery roads I was a bit scared. I prayed so that we all safe I told my youngest daughter to hold tight her toddler son. After passing the rough roads, the roads downhill were muddy as it rained during the night till morning but it's okay. Few minutes, we reached Minakit Retreat camp site.

Camp site is spacious with green lawn grass. Just a few meters away, there's a river flowing and surrounded with beautiful nature environment.

Stayed overnight at this place and we really enjoyed our stay here. Planning to visit Minakit Retreat one day. Just can't forget the beautifulness of this place.

Guests need to book in advance because the camping ground eventhough it has a large yard but usually fully book on the weekend. The owner, Mr. Minin is very helpful and welcoming.

As of August 2022, only 4x4 cars can enter the camping ground because the road is still a gravel road. Guests need to park their car by the roadside and need to transfer their belongings to the owner’s Hilux car and then he will drive the guests to the camping ground. It’s a bumpy (but fun!) 7-10 minutes ride.

Once at the camping ground, his helper will show the space for guests to start setting up their tents.

There’s a clear river nearby and while I was there, there were guests that bring their own swim ring and do some kind of river tubing - just becareful bcs the river flow can be turbulent if the weather is not good. Guests also can do a short hike and have a good view of the place from the hill.

Facilites provided: Public toilet and shower (need to walk a bit from the camping ground), there is a limited socket so may need to bring powerbank to charge phone and there is fridge at one of the hut.

TLDR; beautiful view, nice owner and...

Minakit Retreat is great for family and friends outing. I camped here for 2 nights and it was a wonderful experience.

The entrance from the main road is only accessible by a 4X4. You need to call the campsite BEFORE going down the road as it is only 1 way in and out.

I camped at the Car-camping site. The field is spacious and there are clean water taps all over the site. There are 2 shower rooms and 1 squatting toilet which are basic but clean.

Electricity is limited. So, you need a power station or go to their charging station to charge your devices.

Celcom 4G signal is good for Netflix and Youtube streaming.

Will definitely...
