Went to visit the cave + hike to summit, pretty good experience

Fairy Cave: entrance RM1 per pax

no difficulty to walk around as there are walkways - but it can be quite slippery

recommend to bring headlight/torchlight for better experience. Phone torchlight is ok also

Summit: a guide is needed to access the summit (there is a person guarding the entrance of the trail)

need to go through the cave to reach the summit trail

Summit entrance closes at 12pm

the trail is moderately difficult, takes 1.5hrs one way. It's actually quite short distance, but takes longer time as alot of climbing is needed (the trail is abit steep)

need to climb through sharp rocks, GLOVES and LONG PANTS are HIGHLY RECCOMENDED

A guide costs RM 120 for each group (max 10 pax) [side note on costs: We went as a group of 6pax, we paid RM120. Another group of 2pax strangers joined us, they also paid RM120. Even though we ended up as a group of 8pax with the same guide, they still counted us as 2 different groups and took a total of RM240 from us. ]

the guide for the tour was great though, he explained the formation of the caves and all that to us

the guide is there just to make sure we don't destroy the protected plants during the trail. the trail is clearly marked and...

Definitely a place to visit! It’s not hard to climb, just that you would have to be extra careful as the stairs are a bit steep and small. Also, for tall people, watch out for your head as you may hit the stalactites.

Parking is free. I reached at 9AM on a Public Holiday (Malaysia National Day) and I could still find a parking but best to arrive earlier. The entry fee for adult is RM1.00 and remember to bring your IC for Malaysians. For ages 17 and below, the entry fee is free! There’s a toilet at the entrance and it costs RM0.50 per person.

There are three parts in the cave - twilight, dark and summit trails. For the first two, it’s a very casual walking up the stairs. I would recommend to bring a torchlight as it will get quite dark. There are railings for the stairs but at some point, it may be dirty. I didn’t try the summit trail as tour guide reservation must be made at least 2 days prior to the trip. Hence, I spent around an hour to finish exploring the twilight and dark trails (very casual walk/climb).

Be extra careful as there are a lot of potholes in the dark area. Overall, the view is quite nice and I would recommend anyone to come visit. After all, it’s only RM1.00 and...

I highly recommend visiting the Fairy Caves in Sarawak. It's an incredible experience and easily one of the highlights of a trip to Kuching. The caves are truly breathtaking, with stunning formations, beautiful plants, and well-maintained paths. The staff were also friendly and clear with their instructions, which made our visit smooth and enjoyable. The entry fee is a very reasonable RM5 per adult. For children aged 6-17, the price is RM2, while children under 6 years old enter for free. This makes it an absolute bargain for families. Do note that closed-toe shoes are required, but if you forget them, you can rent a pair for just RM3 at the entrance. Bringing some water is also a good idea. For those who want to explore the darker sections, a flashlight is handy and can be rented for about RM5. Even if you have to drive a few hours to get there, it’s absolutely worth the effort. The climb can be a little bit challenging, especially in the humidity, but the reward is immense. We even did it with two toddlers, and they had a fantastic, adventurous time. It’s a must-see attraction for anyone visiting or living...
