Piasau Nature Reserve Ranger Station — Attraction in Sarawak

Very good service from the staff, they accompanied us to walk the nature reserve and explain the history and background. But you need to be early else you won't be able to see the hornbill due to hot weather. Though I could not meet the hornbill but it is still a good experience for my kid. This nature reserve is very near to the city of Miri. So, getting here isn't that difficult. If you take a taxi, the fare is around RM10 only. There's is 'interpretation centre' here, which is naively a gallery where the history of how the area is gazetted to be a nature reserve is explained. Be sure to listen to the story of Jimmy and Faridah, the pair of love birds of Oriental Pied Hornbill species, whose love story ended tragically with the death of Faridah in the hands...
