It's been decades since the last time I've been to this place. The place wasn't properly maintained. Decades ago the lake was full of Japanese Koi Fish, children having fun feeding colourful fishes. Turtles around the lakes. Yet today it is full of Tilapia, which makes it seems boring. I was quite disappointed. The cafe is full of rubbish, no one bother to clean it up, the colour of the cafe seems faded and rusty. Wooden building supposed to be paint from time to time. However, the foods served in the cafe palatable enough. Air Batu Campur (mixed ice with jelly and red beans) is terrific. You can also find one of the best fried kompia (sibu traditional food). Unfortunately washroom is extremely smelly. They used to have beautiful opera looking stage by the lake. This day it is full of dirt. Landscaping still properly maintained I have to say. On the top of the hill suppose to be a breath taking place where tourist can enjoy the view of Sibu. That place which suppose to be a tourist attraction end up place for the local native performing voodoo ritual. The security company which take care of the should stop these people from doing that. Decade ago this park suppose to be full of people. Most adult spending time jogging or climbing the hills while their children playing at the playground or feeding colourful fishes. Today it seems like a place which is left to rott, yet the council doesn't seems bother to...
Read moreIf you happen to visit Sibu, be sure to drop by Bukit Aup Jubilee Park. There are picnic gazebos, a canteen, a suspension bridge over a lake, which is good for photo-shooting opportunities, and jogging and walking trails. So, if you're sick and tired of indoor gym work-out? Why not test yourself to climb the staircases all the way up to the highest point in Sibu? You can bring your children along to the park to feed the Tilapias and tortoises in the pond. Fish food can be purchased at the canteen for RM2. I'm sure your kids will squeal and scream in excitement to watch shoals of fish feeding on the fish food they give them. Anyway, just a word of caution. Some areas of the park require serious maintenance. So, mind your steps as some planks have gone missing or damaged. Also, do apply mosquito repellent before you visit this park. Overall, it's an ideal park to go for if you're planning to have a stroll, spend quality time with your children, and engage in...
Read moreNice place to hang out with family and friends that is filled with childhood memories. First time coming back here after years of studying overseas. Has a few BBQ spots. Has a little cafe where you can get some simple snacks and desserts. I got the cendol special which includes canned fruits for RM6. It’s really nice to enjoy on a hot day. You can also get fish food here to feed the fishes. You are not allowed to bring fish food from outside.
This time I’m not that fit anymore, and because of the heat wave in Sibu (too hot), I decided not to climb up too far. So, not much pictures. But there is like an observation tower ish up top. There is also a bridge to cross. There is a playground for children too. The facilities seemed quite old and can use...
