It's was a nice place , I had a wonderful evening with family . The boat only acomaccommo 4 adults . That provide life jacket . So if you are 5 adult , you got to take 2 boat for RM 50 per boat for 15 to 20 minute only . We took 2 boat , the boat that I got in , the person ( boat owner ) was so good . Another 1 was terrible . In this case , MDKS should brief those people to explain to visitors .
Another major problem at this place is The counter is only open at 7.45pm Even you line up at the counter as the 1st person , you can't get the 1st boat . Because there are some tourist guide complote with the staff there and straight sit as a 1st person without queing at the ticket counter , This happen to me , I was the 1st person bought the ticket but , when I approach the jeti , one of the tourist guide approach me and ask where I m going , as I told him I got the ticket , he told me that ,I have to wait because they have booked early and told me that his tourist is waiting for long time . I was confused because , I didn't see them queing at the ticket counter but how come they are given priority. When I aporiapp the staff there , he told me that this is the problem there and it lead to arguments . I was so upset with the answer of the staff there . I strongly recommend to this area management to over come this issue by following ticket number and allow visitors to go in . Don't think only tourist can support and pay We local malaysian also are capable . Very frustrated local...
Read moreSo sickening on the following grounds; The helpline is totally off during public holiday bcoz it is the local land office managing the whole thing..when the office is closed..we got nowhere to turn to except by going to the place itself which is only opened after 7pm; Very poor ticket counter management- long queue,aircons in the ticketing office not working,so hot, fan not all functioning,people queue sooo long,very slow service; Very poor boat services,long queue, poor ceiling fans,few not functioning, lack of lights at the jetty,slippery and narrow stairways getting to the pontoon,no one controlling people get in and out of the stairway,clashed in between;and Its a boat row in the darkness..so eery.
Here are my humble suggestions;
Privatise the management for better services especially on customer care services; Be more creative in giving excitement to the tourist such as creating fake fireflies on the tree eg; creating christmas tree with blinking tiny lights resembling fireflies or using the "lampu kelip kelip" the kind of lights that we put on during raya nights etc etc; Be more creative in luring more fireflies to come there,engage an expert for that very purposes; Improve ticketing services by providing online sale or appointing local agent to sell the ticket 24hrs daily; Improve the queue system(ticketing and embarking to the boat),make it fully aircon or provide more fans;and Provide free wifi,night vision...
Read moreIt's a bit overrated. You need not be disappointed if you miss it. However, if you have a lot of time available and curious to find out what the hype online is all about (like us :)) You won't be upset that you visited, but can't rule out coming back disappointed.
Few tips: Get yourself mosquito repellent liquids prior to visiting (it is also sold there for RM 20 to 30) not so good, but does the job. Dress easy - this is not a boat or a ferry ride.. it's a catamaran ride. Be prepared for a bit of stretching and crouching. Carry a DSLR instead of relying on your phone. It basically boating in the night. You need something that can handle extreme low light photography. The life vests are available in plenty but smelly (carry a body spray or perfume) otherwise you're only thinking of the odour/sweat smells and not enjoying the experience - You will for sure thank me for this one when you're wearing the vest. (You can hit that like in advance ;)) Most important - Cards not accepted, just ensure you have RM 50 available per boat of 4 adults Get there early, queue up outside the ticket counter. If not you'll end up in a long queue later. If you're in a group, split your team - Few can queue at the ticketing counter and the rest can queue up at the boarding area. So you don't end up queueing twice.
The drive from KL is enjoyable, a mix of highways and fields/crops.
Enjoy...
