As someone who rarely hike, but loves jungle trekking during primary and secondary school, this is definitely hard / advanced level for me.
Need to apply permit for hike - cost RM 5 per person.
Need to pay RM 2 per person to Orang Asli during entrance (I think they don’t have authorisation to collect the money but just think of it as a charity 🤣).
Hard to find parking so better reach early.
Very steep hike at certain spots, and slippery, but the view when you reach Lata Medang waterfall is glorious. Along the way, there are also spots by the river where you can swim and picnic/ camp. Water is clear and cold, very good for healing.
For newbie, better come with guide / friends who are used to go hiking because we did get lost for about some time.
There are a lot of leeches on the trail.
Took us about 3 hours to hike up, 1.5 hours at the waterfall for lunch (yes bring some food as you will be hungry after the hike up) and another 2.5 hours to hike down. Total around 11km walk according to sport watch.
People with bad knees are not advisable...
