Sekinchan Mango King: A Refreshing Return (With More Mango Magic!)
I recently revisited Sekinchan Mango King, a familiar stop on my trips to Sekinchan. While I'd been here before, I never got around to writing a review. This time, I decided to rectify that oversight!
Mango Mania:
One thing's for sure – Sekinchan Mango King has definitely grown in popularity. Compared to my last visit a few years back (pre-pandemic), the place was buzzing with activity. Luckily, they've also expanded their seating area to accommodate the increased crowd.
The Star of the Show:
The star of the show, as always, is the original mango smoothie. This refreshing beverage remains just as delicious as I remember. Made with fresh, local mangoes, it's the perfect way to cool down on a hot and sunny day. The mango flavor is pure and vibrant, and the consistency is perfectly smooth and creamy. Every sip is a burst of tropical goodness!
A Must-Try on Sunny Days:
If you're ever in Sekinchan on a sunny day, Sekinchan Mango King is a mandatory stop. The original mango smoothie is an absolute must-try. It's a refreshing and flavorful experience that perfectly captures the essence of...
Read moreThis place is overhyped. It's just a dwelling that has a few mango trees providing shade over a few junkyard tables and chairs for customers to sit with several neglected dogs. They sell fruits including mangoes and some cold drinks.
The mangoes are good but I'm not sure whether the pricing was fair or not. I didn't buy any even though was given samples to try. I had some "ice blended" mango though, which was plain mango pureé, no ice added. The one cringe worthy thing about it was that the cut mango used for the pureé was not refrigerated. Price: RM5.
I also drank one of their cold drinks: chrysanthemum tea. It was good, its low sugar content allowing the taste of the chrysanthemum to come through. RM2.50 for a 250-ml bottle.
There is parking in the shade for only two cars. Be careful, as there is a sudden dip from the road to the bare dirt parking space. Getting back up to the tarred road might prove to be a bit of a...
Read more5 star overall, it is a MUST visit when visiting sekinchan, but there are good and bad serving/dishes. most of food are great, I love the toufu dishes. Original mango ais is ok but the mango ais with passion fruit is so sour until I have to drink a bottle of mineral water to finish it. Maybe a sour food lover will like it? i don't know, I love sour food but not that kind of level. Also the rojak is full of mango and pineapple and less cucumber, again sour kaw kaw until now I still can feel the sour when I write this review LoL 😂 . I would suggest cucumber or something crunchy and fresh should be more in their rojak. it is not bad just too sour. ha ha ha. So after reading some reviews, something is quite true. Hard to get parking, place are not clean, Mango Ice taste like drinking glue and plain (original no sugar), maybe difference session some of the mango/passion fruit...
