WARNING!! This review is going to be pretty lengthy especially for those who are planning an event here like WEDDING or ENGAGEMENT. I do not have the heart to give only 1 star but here it is. This 1 star is only for the deserved architecture of this wonderful temple. BRIDE AND GROOM DRESSING ROOMS I know this temple is famous and became one of the tourist attractions. But why are you conducting these kinds of events without even upgrading and providing proper facilities? People are not doing it for free. We are paying to the temple’s management. You are asking us 1000 times to pay the amount, but the service is like a garbage. The temple is already on the hill, yet the rooms are far down the hill. Imagine if its heavy raining. How difficult it will be! The rooms interior, just getting right into my nerves. Rooms were inside an old building. No proper air conditioner or mirror. Traveling down from the temple to this room is already taking much time and was sweating a little. You have space inside the temple where you can actually utilize as dressing rooms. Just use some common sense to think or else don’t let people to organize events here. Such a troublesome! TEMPLE’S TOILET Come on temple management, don’t tell me you don’t have enough fund to even fix a lighting in the toilet. The toilet also located down the hill behind the old building. It was so dark and creepy! The toilet is not clean at all and was so awful. Imagine kids are using the toilet. How would they feel? CANOPY LOCATION The guests attending the event had to walk down from temple, pass the parking area and walk further down while raining to not really enjoy their meals. This is just because the canopy location is at the entry of the temple location beside the old building. The parking lot is right in front the temple stairs entrance, but canopy had to be down the hill. You are strictly not allowing to serve non vege however the canopy can’t be in front of the temple stairs? Where’s the logic here? Some of them didn’t even return to the wedding area which is inside towards the end part of the temple after eating because it was too damn far! Yet again and again such a trouble for the people coming to the temple. MUSIC(NATHASWARAM) INSTRUMENT PLAYERS After the wedding ends, these two instrument players keep following us to give them tips(tatchanai). My mum was so uncomfortable and handed a RM10 note to them. Their faces looked so unhappy ‘’this is what you got for me’’ in their mind. What kind of behavior is this? We paid the temple management to organize our wedding here and this is inclusive in the package, but we still need to give them so call ‘tips’. Excuse me temple management why are they acting like they’re not paid wages for their service? TEMPLE PRIEST(AIYAR) We went for the horoscope matching (jaathagam porutham) to the temple and this aiyar told us to give him tatchanai amount as per our wish. We gave him RM10 and he objected us by saying tatchanai must be at least RM30. Even for the wedding he requested for RM110. We requested the wedding chanting to be in Tamil but the aiyar did ¾ in Sanskrit. So, to the people who are considering this temple as your wedding venue, please take note of all these points. TOURIST VISITING THE TEMPLE These temple staffs including the guard are too bossy restricting people who took pictures and videos inside the temple but there were busses of tourists came to the temple and no staff came forward and handled these tourists. Tourists were literally interrupting our wedding. They came and blocking the pathway and the wedding area. It was hard for our photographers to take photos. They even blocked our air coolers we paid and rented for the wedding! I’m telling you; this is not free! Aside from this, pictures at the temple ground are also not allowed for the bride and groom! Overall, I think this temple management should focus more on these above-mentioned points rather than restricting photographs inside the temple and tourists visiting this temple or else this temple is losing its originality...

Read moreWhile this charming Hindu temple may not be huge, it more than makes up for it with the vast number of intricate stone statues that adorn the entire temple.
Visitors are welcome to enter the temple as long as you adhere to the rules which unfortunately also includes no photography within the temple itself. You're welcome to take all the photos you want outside though. There are no entrance fees.
One of the rules I missed was no shorts but fortunately they provide a cloth to cover my legs.
Getting to the temple from Kuala Selangor town may be a bit of a challenge as you have to drive past the entrance and make a U-turn a few kilometers away. So, if you're coming from KL, it may make more sense to visit the temple on your way to Kuala Selangor/Sekinchan.
The other thing to note is that Google Maps gave wrong directions from Kuala Selangor. Maps gave instructions to turn right at the traffic light junction in front of the temple but it is not possible to make that turn. The correct way is to just go straight and...
