We attended a Wedding Reception here, for the daughter of our family friends. This being our first visit here, we got lost for a little while, but eventually we managed to figure out our way there.
Upon our arrival at the parking lot, a buggy was already waiting to bring us to the Main Reception Hall. The compound of the venue was sprawling, with some nice buildings being juxtaposed along the main accessway. We even had to cross a bridge above a narrow water body that flows right in the centre. It was quite a short ride on the buggy, but it was quite a pleasant one, nonetheless...
As we arrived, we were greeted by the proud parents of the bride. We thought we were the earlybirds, but apparently a huge crowd of guests were already seated at the the limited tables available. Luckily, we managed to get two vacant seats for us, eventhough we had to share the table with some strangers.
Next, it was to the buffet table to sample the delectable array of some typical wedding foods. As usual, they serve the Nasi Minyak, Beef Rendang, and Fried Chicken. But they also offer some additional dishes like Laksa, which is my wife's favorite, and banana fritters plus some other traditional malay kuih muih or other delicacies.
Due to the large number of guests waiting to ride the limited number of buggies to get to the carpark, we had decided to walk there instead. It was quite a long walk, and the sun was also searing above us. Fortunately for us, we came upon another buggy which was carrying the Bride and Groom to the Main Reception Hall. And we managed to snap a selfie...
Read morei hate weddings. HATE. suffering from major depressive disorder and extreme anxiety, i really can't handle crowds. but i still have to make appearances every once in a while. and this place is perfect for people like me.
the place is surrounded by 8-foot walls, like they're preparing for some kinda zombie apocalypse. the shuttle buggies are a bit of an overkill since the walk from parking to the main hall ain't that far - but like 12 carts would swarm as soon as you get out of the car to offer a ride.
i love seeing the blossoming fruit trees here and there. they're well pruned and fertilized. the structures are themed, whatever the inspiration may be - but it works. the ferry is pointless; just looks nice and draws attraction away from the main hall.
okay the main hall ain't much to shout about. what i love about is that they put lawn chairs under parasols between 2 rambutan trees for anti-social freaks like me to have some space. maybe it's meant for smokers but hey, i'd chill with smokin' joes than make small talk with showboats at the round table inside any given day.
i just wish all my future invitations are held here, because i'd look...

The hall should have a better ventilation and cooling system - all the decorations made by the organisers count for nothing if guests are going to endure a sauna session throughout an event. Scenic view somewhat with a pond providing a boat/raft ride for guests while an extended buggy and a 🚂 help shuttle guests from the car park area right through the property to the main reception area. Convenient feature for the elderly guests as well as doing away with the need to walk under the hot sun ☀️ in your glitzy clothes and high heels. Not a good venue if the invitation extends to 1000 guests while seating is only available...
