Taman Herba, Tasik Kenyir — Attraction in Terengganu

I was looking for was to visiting this after visiting a herb garden in Sri Lanka which was excellent. Unfortunately this one is poorly tended to and so is a bit unloved. I was told by our guite that it had lost its contract after the change of government, and so I think it is now staffed by a skeleton crew of volunteers, and there was no one there when we went. There were a few interesting things there but our stand-in guide did not know much, which is a shame. Similar up to its name, this place full of all kind of herbs. At 'Pondok Harmoni' there is someone on duty who let u try 3 different types of herbal drinks i.e. Tongkat Ali, Mahkota Dewi and Kacip Fatimah. If anyone is interested, there is also a shop selling those rare herbs and few other thing acted like mini sundry shop at an affordable price. the Kenyir Lake Herbal Garden where you can see and touch various varieties of herbs and learn about their usage in Malaysia. you can see a big black Tongkat Ali which is quite rare in nature as it is a highly sought after herbal tree. you can also try some of the herbal tea including tongkat ali tea, kacip fatimah and mahkota dewa brews at a display area. all trees/plants are nicely planted near the cemented walking track. beautiful place for taking photo. unfortunately you have to climb steps from the boat landing to get to...
