I was here to participate in coral propagation work. It was a 5 nights stay at this Chalet.
Pros 5 mins walking distance from the jetty. Many chalets are facing the sea, partially blocked by dining area. Friendly staffs. Reasonable price for value kind-of chalets. Easy access to nearby groceries / hawkers. Facing the waters, you have the ocean as your bathtub just beside the mainhall. You can enjoy a good morning coffee just beside the water. There's a duty free shop for alcohol nearby, the price is about the same as in Kg Paya.
Cons The rooms are not clean, we need to wash the aircond because it smells. We clean the chalet ourselves again because they lack immediate actions. The rooms are not
Tips U-Mobile coverage is a total goner, use Celcom or Maxis there. Good news, you can buy the sim card at grocery shops nearby, just ask, they are very happy to entertain people who want to buy stuffs fr them. You may try your luck with the early ferry that may smuggle you to next jetty (Kg Paya) for less price as stated above but you still need to figure out how you come back to...

The village is stretched out along a footpath that follows the coastline and the buildings reach hardly a hundred metres from the shore into the jungle behind.
A few shops, restaurants, cafes, chalets, a clinic and a mosque complete the core of the village around the jetty. Villagersโ wooden homes are a few metres further down the footpath in either direction, surrounded by the tall emerald trees of the forest.
You can easily walk from the one end of the village to the other in thirty minutes, or rent a bicycle to get around. The same concrete footpath that is the main throughway of Genting continues north to the village of Paya and there are footbridges over the many mountain streams that find their way into the ocean here. It does not take long before you start encountering monkeys and monitor lizards and all you can hear is the calls of birds and the...
