Machchafushi — Attraction in South Ari Atoll

Centara Grand Resort Maldives is a relatively small island, but don't let this put you off as the rather small size makes everyday strolling perfect, and only a short walk and you are everywhere, on paradise.

A short 25 min pleasant seaplane transfer from Male is also ideal after 10+ hr long flight, especially if you have small children in your party.

The staff were all wonderful, I have tried to remember all their names but these below really stood out and reached out all the way to assist guest and make our stay extra special:

Reception & Management: Manager Sam really is a gem, he strolls around the island from morning to evening and greeting all guests and listened to all our requested to make this an unforgettable experience.

Nabaa from Camp Safara was wondering in organising activties and taking care of all childrens and was really hard working.

All staff at the Coral Bar were fantastic, such as Vivek and LAX, however Piyush particularily stood out as our chosen star staff!

Shazin from Thai restaurant, and Sojib and Hunaidn from Reef were also friendly and had smiles on their faces all the time.

The Spa was also a wonderful experience and we were treated by Patis and Susi.

The Grand All Inclusive package is also one of the best we've ever experienced.

If I have to make any small criticisms, I'd say perhaps some facilities may not be upto 5 star resort standard, such as rusty plastic fridge in the room, a wonky and broken toilet seat in the villa, and a very old LCD Toshiba TV in the room that just looks like a sore thumb sticking out. And most importantly, I had not expected a 5 star resort to offer guests instant coffee sachets...the tea bags selections were fantastic though. Nonetheless, after a few days, you just stop caring about these small things and just immerse...

Io e la mia compagna abbiamo soggiornato per 10 notti in questo resort. Per lei è stata la prima volta alle Maldive, mentre per me la quinta in resort differenti (per cui posso avere una conoscenza forse più ampia). Il Resort è in linea con il vero immaginario di paradiso Maldiviano. L'isola molto piccola e accogliente permette di avere tutto a pochi passi (ristoranti, reception, bar, piscine, camere/spiaggia/mare a pochi metri). In 4 minuti si percorre a piedi tutta quanta tra la vegetazione curata nei minimi dettagli che gira internamente, oppure dalla spiaggia che è spaziosa, riservata ed accessibile da ogni camera direttamente servita di lettini personali. La camera (noi avevamo la numero 30): molto bella su due piani. Al piano terra l'ingresso con la vetrata direttamente su una veranda e sulla spiaggia che anticipa all'oceano, con la zona divano e bar, si accede ad un'area bagno divisa in tre ambienti (doccia, sanitari, trucco) ed una seconda vetrata che porta alla doccia esterna stupenda. Con una scala in legno si arriva ad un soppalco con il letto comodo ed un secondo bagno separato. Davvero super. Consiglio il versante del tramonto come noi perché vale tutto il viaggio. Spiaggia: incantevole e ben servita da lettini e con accesso all'oceano molto comodo, dove poter fare snorkeling. Molto ampia e permette di avere tutti gli spazi senza affollamenti. Ristorazione: il Resort è provvisto di 3 ristoranti più un club. Il ristorante principale al buffet è sempre fornito di ogni cosa si possa desiderare, con cucina internazionale. Il ristorante Thailandese con cuochi thailandesi molto buono e caratteristico. Il ristristorante italiano sebbene in vacanza si tenda ad escludere la nostra cucina, in realtà è un vero punto di forza che consiglio assolutamente perché superiore a moltissimi ristoranti in Italia, con prodotti di eccellenza. Per noi il vero valore aggiunto è stato proprio lo Chef Giuseppe (un giovane e capace ragazzo italiano) che ha saputo dal primo giorno soddisfare le richieste mie e della mia compagna (entrambe vegetariani ed amanti dei dolci), suggerendoci e proponendoci dolci e coccole ad ogni pasto. Per dirne una, l'ultimo giorno avevo un desiderio particolare di dolci e come un grande professionista in un posto di spessore mi ha accontentato, ed il bello è che l'attenzione era per chiunque. Il Diving: lo staff davvero competente anche se deludente nei servizi. Noi siamo due subacquei e le immersioni sono state il traino della vacanza. Purtroppo vengono proposti servizi (immersioni squalo balena e mante) che poi non vengono fatti per mancanza di subacquei. In un resort di questo livello non si può sponsorizzare un servizio per il quale si và e poi non offrirlo. Però hanno saputo farci vedere alternative marine stupende. Dal primo giorno viene fornita l'attrezzatura per lo snorkeling

Nel complesso è super consigliabile per chi cerca un Resort di alto livello con tutti i servizi possibili. Consiglio di far assegnare la camera nel versante del tramonto e di provare tutta la ristorazione.

第一天10點就從馬列出關，櫃檯人員安排了下午3:50的飛機，整整要等五個多小時，且沒有給其他任何選項。

櫃檯人員把我們送上去搭水飛的接駁車後就置之不理了，後來到水飛港口還以為真的要等5個小時才能搭飛機，還好我們「自己主動」去水飛櫃檯詢問能不能搭早一點的班機才得以在12點左右坐上水上飛機。

後來水飛抵達飯店附近時是停在一個木棧板旁等待快艇來接，上了快艇後整整開了30分鐘才到飯店島，跟網路上的資訊差異甚大。

最後一天12點check out時，櫃檯人員說下午2:50集合，約3點可以搭乘水飛。 後來我們確實提早到集合點並且上了船，船上人員才跟我們說我們不是這班飛機的，要我們回港口再等2個小時的下一班水飛，並且搭乘水飛點還不是在飯店附近，一樣要到第一天很遠的接駁點才能搭乘水飛。

一切櫃檯安排都令人感到被差別待遇。

On the first day, we left from Malé airport at 10 AM, and the desk staff of hotel arranged a seaplane flight for us at 3:50 PM, meaning we had to wait over five hours with no other options provided.

After the desk staff sent us to the seaplane shuttle, they completely ignored us. When we arrived at the seaplane port, we thought we had to wait the full 5 hours for the flight, but thankfully, we took the initiative to ask at the seaplane desk if we could take an earlier flight. Only then were we able to board a seaplane around noon.

Later, when the seaplane arrived near the hotel, it stopped by a wooden platform, and we had to wait for a speedboat to come. After getting on the speedboat, we traveled for a full 30 minutes before reaching the hotel island, which was quite different from what we had seen online.

On the last day, when checking out at noon, the desk staff told us to gather at 2:50 PM, and the flight would be around 3 PM. We arrived early at the gathering point, boarded the boat, and then the staff told us that we were not on this flight and that we would have to return to the port and wait for the next seaplane, which was two hours later. Additionally, the seaplane pickup point was not near the hotel but was at the same remote spot where we had to take the seaplane on the first day.

The entire desk arrangement made us feel like we were being treated...
