This is the most ancient tower of bamako named La tour d'Afrique (The Africa's tower). It is a blend of African-type elements in general and Malian in particular. This compilation is made by: - a baobab - a reservoir covered with ideograms (emblematic palaver tree under which the major decisions and resolutions of the city were taken) - two necklaces (to signify the party) - joined arms (for the uniqueness of the objective) - a pierced jar (that of King Guezo of Benin) - a sign bearing the image of Africa. The guide was very professional. I take my time to get inside the Tour. I was able to appreciate history of African Union and Panafricanism, pictures of leaders and founders of the AU, presentation of African countries with their flag, arts.
