There are a few reviews here that would put some off from visiting this site. I think that they are wrong & this site is very much worth a visit. Some have said that they felt unsafe here, please note that this is a cave that's entrance is on the face on a cliff, so if you are afraid of heights or cliffs, then yes you may feel unsafe, as you can see from attached photos there are railings and a cut path with stairs that lead to the cave and it is as safe as it can be. Others have said it was dirty, there was a 1 empty can in this cave, people do litter, its unfortunate but it happens. The cave is quite muddy but that is because its a very damp cave. Others have written that this cave is in a bad condition, you can see from my photos that its in perfectly good condition for a cave on the side of a cliff, its not a 5 star heritage site, its a cave.... Lastly, some have said it was difficult to get to. If you follow google maps you will end up at an open tarmacked area, park there, then there is a fence along with a closed gate at where google shows the path is, however if you just walk a little bit north you'll find a small stone room and an open gate, follow the path and you will find the stone pathway that leads to the cave. I have attached a map in the images. If you like caves, if you like cliffs, if you like breathtaking sea views, visiting the sites of old legends & folklore, or if you simply would like to see something a little different from the usual sandy beach or beautiful church, then I highly recommend visiting this cave. If you read this whole review then thankyou, I love my country & our heritage & I think all though there is a lot of wrong here there is also a lot of beauty to be found.

The cave is officially closed but can be reached. There is a hole in the fence opposite the Maritime building. Climb through and follow the path to the right. After the stairs end, turn left at the cliff and you will find the entrance. After entering the cave, there's a part that goes to the right. Follow this and you will find some beautiful windows to the sea. There's also a legend that an Arab man fell in love with a Maltese girl and abducted her to the cave. The girl was desperate and jumped into the sea, the Arab followed suit. Neither one survived, apparently. Definitely worth a visit, best to go by car.

Very windy, very scary! Hold on to someone or something. As with a lot of sites on Malta, there isn't much in the way of "management". You have to find your own way around and be responsible for your own safety. If you're from somewhere that is more inclined to put up fences, railings and safety notices every 10 feet, then you may be shocked at the absence of this kind of stuff. But just be careful. Be a grown up. Hold onto to small children, and see the world without a chain link fence obscuring your view.

You can't currently (April 2024) get into the cave. I guess too many people knew about the hole in the fence, so they put up a mesh directly at the entrance with spikes protruding over the sea. Anyway, the surrounding cliffs are beautiful.

Beautiful cave inside the cliffs with a great view on the open sea. No indications on the site so follow the Google Maps pin. People who have vertigo, be careful the cave is quite high above the sea. There still are security barriers.
