Absolutely beautiful views on a clear sunny cool January day. It is very difficult to get to, unless you have a car or use a company. The 101 bus is irregular and erratic. We gave up and walked 3.1km from the city, some sidewalk, some narrow, rock bounded wall road. There are lots of smelly cows on the last 1km. The road turns into an excellent stone path up to the viewpoint. Well done! And the views are awesome. Bring lunch, drink, and take your time.
You could backtrack, but we went on to the neatest bus stop. The path down to Xlendi is marked on Google but is challenging. Also, it is not clear if any of it is private property, nothing marked. There are many some shelters scattered about, I suppose for bad weather cover.
But sometimes challenges make it even more memorable. In bad weather or dark, don't do it. In good weather, go slow. You will need long pants (bushes) and good shoes. There are lots of elevation changes, some mud, lots of weathered rock. But you do get to see more precipitous cliffs, complete silence, the swishing of waves 150m below. The omnipotence of the ocean. Makes human life feel small. Amazing.
Eventually, we got to the cute town, Xlendi, and lucked out only 15 minutes, and the...

3.4km from city, no busses go there, taxi/uber is expensive (and on Gozo, more than the main island). Walk is ok, no hills, through old towns and farms, but easily 45-60 minutes. Last part of walk past stinky castle farm. No sidewalks mostly but not a big problem. Not much traffic. Some folks rent 3- wheelers for 50E!
Hike to local town, also a very pretty place with excellent rock and sea view, is another 45mins. Path is badly marked, so do not try at disk. From there, bus back to Victoria.
Highly memorable but a bit risky and strenuous. Not easy. In bad weather could be...
Read moreExcellent in every step. A newly surfaced road runs from Munxar; it is walkable. Once at Sanap Cliffs, continue your carefully considered walk to Xlendi. Simply turn to the right and follow the footpath to Xlendi. It takes about an hour to do it safely without coming to harm by slips, trips and falls. Take note! Don't fool around, help will be of no use to you. At Xlendi refreshments can be had from a good choice of snack bars, restaurants and cafes. A bus service from Xlendi is regularly available to take you to Victoria (Rabat). From there busses are available to the ferry to Malta. Take your camera and maybe a small bottle of water. Keep the plastic bottle for the bin please. It's amazing just how pristine and free of litter...
