Island Hopping in El Nido 🏝️ Island hopping is a core travel experience when it comes to visiting El Nido in the Philippines. The decision to island hop is simple, but deciding which islands to visit can be difficult. In El Nido you’ll find the following tour options: ⭐️ Tour A Big Lagoon, Secret Lagoon, Shimizu Island, 7 Cammandos & Payong Beach. ⭐️ Tour B Entatula Island, Snake Island, Cudognun Cave, Cathedral Cave & Pinagbuyutan Island. ⭐️ Tour C Helicopter Island, Hidden Beach, Secret Beach, Talisay Beach & Matinloc Island. ⭐️ Tour D Cadlao Lagoon, Small Lagoon, Bukal Beach, Nat-Nat Beach & Paradise Beach. Tour A and Tour C are the most popular options. We were advised that the lagoons in Coron (where we had already visited) were more beautiful than those in El Nido included in Tour A, so we decided to go on Tour C which arguably has the more beautiful beaches! We weren’t disappointed as you can see from the drone footage of (not so) “Secret” Beach. As we were limited for time while in El Nido, we arranged our tour in advance booking through @getyourguide thanks to the @getyourguidecommunity. They really made the process simple! 📍Secret Beach, El Nido . . . . #getyourguidecommunity #elnido #philippinestravel #wowphilippines #bluewaters #islandhopping #tropicalbeach

We visited Matinloc Shrine on 2nd April 2023. You're probably on Tour C now and are here to try to figure out whether or not to pay 200 pesos to enter Matinloc Shrine. My advice is don't bother. There are a couple of concrete effigies of Jesus, a concrete statue of Mary, a bizarrely constrasting concrete effigy of Marcos, and some unfinished ruins of buildings. They clearly need the money to complete the construction works, so there is absolutely no need for you to contribute to the building costs. We loved Tour C, and the natural world we experienced with the beaches, views and photo opportunities. In my opinion you can skip Matinloc Shrine and you haven't missed anything. Oh it does have a lovely viewpoint between the rocks from up fairly high. That's the only nice part though, and not even worth 40 pesos never mind 200 pesos. I have genuinely no idea how this tourist attraction is getting nearly 5 star reviews on Google. Hope this helps!

Part of tour C, this spot was the reason that I planned for my El Nido travel, not for Big Lagoon or Small lagoon or for any other reason. This place looks like it's out of this world, magnificently beautiful, you will be at a loss of words in describing the beauty of this place. Definitely a must visit if you are going to El Nido, you can't afford to miss visiting Matinloc Shrine. The only downside is the entrance fee of 100Php

Entrance fee of 200 pesos but the place looks so run down.

The shrine itself had holes in the floor with iron bars sticking out, and a concrete slab that has fallen off from one pillar of the shrine.

Apart from the shrine, there's just a small platform for people to take photos, but it has very high steps. The platform is usually overcrowded.

Toilet is also not well maintained and very dark.

Would not encourage paying 200 pesos for this place since the money is not used to maintained...
