Île aux Aigrettes — Attraction in Beau Vallon

This is a great place to visit. We two 70+ year old tourists joined with others and enjoyed the 10min boat ride to the island and then, with a good guide, Fabrice, we easily walked the 90min tour. (Tours are specific to either English or French speakers). Super to see lots of the giant tortoises and good to see some pink pigeons plus a wide variety of endemic flora and fauna. Take cash (no card facilities) to spend in their souvenir shop - proceeds to Mauritius...

Absolutely stunning experience! What a beautiful island, stunning views & to benefit endemic species, too! It was, really - VERY hot when we went(!) The island is all shaded. But, it's very low lying, and all the trees block the air. So, as you can imagine, it becomes extremely humid! So - plenty of water!! Our guide was fantastic, really cared about the place & really knowledgeable, too!! He was also struggling in the heat!! I'd love to go back, I'd just go...
